Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

Quick update: The electrician came around for the second visit to compete the wiring but unfortunately one of the sockets had the damp in the surrounding plasterboard so he removed the socket completely. There's now a hole in the wall (covered partially by the back plate of the old socket). So...

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

It was the rodents apparently, but he was just guessing because he didn't actually remove the wire and see any bite marks on there as yet. This is what it says on the receipt: "Callout, faulty ring circuit, x1 leg of ring faulty, needs to be put right on next visit."

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

He mentioned something about the completion of the "ring circuit" and that in it's current state it's not stable. Said he wanted to lower the amps to 20 but didn't have the equipment so had to leave it at 32. Advised only to use a few sockets at a time, maximum, otherwise it could cause some...

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

I got an electrician around last night and the problem is temporarily fixed. Although it's not entirely above board apparently as now the two wall sockets near the door are out of action. He said it could be a fire risk if too many sockets are used at the same time in it's current condition and...

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

Great story Taylor, thanks for the advice and good to hear you found out what the problem was in the end. So far, I've only turned off and unplugged all the sockets in the kitchen, since I thought the problem was isolated to the kitchen due the "kitchen sockets" breaker in the fusebox causing...

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

Thanks for the information, I think I saw a video about this very issue by John Ward just last night while trying to gather research about my problem: Not sure what to do next other than call an electrician. I was hoping it would be a simple DIY fix as has happened from time to time in the...

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

Removed 4 fuses - 3 of them were 13A, the boiler one was 3A. Tried the fusebox again and it still trips.

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

I've turned off the 4 wall fuses at the switches. Should I remove the actual 13A fuses completely from the plastic housing and then test for the RCD trip again?

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

The central heating was running most of the time for a small bathroom radiator but the boiler was actually repaired last month due to a faulty diverter valve causing a leaking boiler. It hasn't leaked since the repair and the electricity was fine during and after the leak. The bad news is that...

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

There used to be a connection to the shed years ago but it was removed years before I moved in. There are no sockets outside other than the one in the shed which is disconnected with a cut wire protruding out of the socket. But this wire isn't connected to anything, as connection to the fuse box...

Kitchen Electrics Tripping Even After Everything Unplugged?

Have isolated on fuse box that the kitchen electrical breaker (which is connected to all kitchen sockets, cooker and boiler) are causing the RCD to trip. Turned off all kitchen sockets and unplugged everything in there. Still tripping when I turn the breaker back on. There are 3 wall fuses in...

Lol.. coming from you, that's just a tad hypocritical.. :D

Hot water low pressure after Diverter Valve replacement

The original installers of the boiler appear to have been a bunch of cowboys. When I opened it up a few weeks ago, after the original leak started, there were 3 nuts and bolts just left inside the base of the boiler.

It's not new, it's a second hand one that he found in his van after searching for a while. He had to make a few modifications to it with the NRV and an accurately-sized rubber washer.

Right, I fixed my SD card reader. (Contact me if you need any I.T. work completed and I promise not to behave like a pompous git just because I probably know more about I.T. than you...) Here are the photos: Existing Filling Loop: Old part: New Part:

The filling loop attached to the pipework enables the bar to be increased on the pressure gauge.

The plumber did show me that there was an NRV attached to the newly-replaced cold water inlet valve, and compared it with the original valve which didn't have an NRV attached.

Probably not, my internal SD card reader is down so I can't transfer across from the camera without hassle. But it looks like a filling loop, just not sure why the engineer would say there is none. Maybe he was talking about a loop going specifically from the valve itself because this loop is...
