    The small hairy plate is the burner, and it is very important to be located correctly or you could end up with explosive ignition. Think you should get someone in, who knows what there doing. James

    If the pilot light is extinguished chances are it is overheating, check all valves under boiler are open, and that there is proper circulation. James

    Its possible that your flow/pressure is low enough that your heater is not able to get rid of its heat quickly enough into the water. This would cause the heater to overheat and the pilot light to be knocked out by the overheat stat. James

    Sounds like it might be the boiler thermostat, when it switches off can you turn the thermostat up and hear it click. Or a sludged up heat exchanger not letting heat escape. James

    That does sound like a good deal, but see if they can do a similar deal on a 39c. The price isnt much more but you get a lot better hot water performance. James

    Depends where the boiler is located, if it is at the top of the property with no system above it, you can drain to the level of the boiler. Or try and air lock the system, or freeze. James
