Has it not occured to you that British Standard documents are copyrighted? If they weren't we would all have a copy of BS7671 on file instead of paying £50 for a copy! You have NO CHANCE of getting a freebie!

    circuit breaker tripping

Why do you call yourself "brightspark13" That username gives me the impression that you are a sparky (and a clever one at that). The work you describe should be well within the capability of a bright sparky. The fact that you are asking how to do this speaks volumes. Your limited...

    new colouring mistakes

The old colours are still valid until 1st April 2006. If you have old reels of cable, you can still use them until that date. However, if you hoard old colour cable and do a job next year, who is to say that the job wasn't done before 1st January 2005 when Part P was introduced?

    LABC and Part P

PDElec, you have to understand that B-A-S is trying to point out that in a court of law, some things have to be defined exactly. Dictionary definitions are not what a court looks at. There has to be a legal definition. There isn't an exact definition for a "competent person". You could...

Ban is right. Why do some people give opinions rather than checking the facts first? Advice based upon the word of a "mate of a mate" is bad advice. Always check! Here are two links for sparks to read: -...

Burning cable, what should i do??

I agree with FWL_Engineer. 10mm at least, not 6mm! Much better Iz figure. Also worried about your 40A fuse ( In ) when your Ib figure is 41.5A

Burning cable, what should i do??

Is this the "heavy duty" cooker cable you mentioned earlier that is now installed? Or is this the cable you removed?

    RCD just wont hold!

Did you do the inspection and test yourself or did you get a sparks to do it for you? Do you have a schedule of test results to refer to regarding the insulation resistance test between each conductor?
