    Venting soil stacks

hello guys I have two bathrooms in my house. They are separately connected to the public sewer with their own stacks. The main bathroom uses a stack that vents to outside. The second one is capped off just above the branch. Is it acceptable to install an external air admittance valve on...

    Shower pump lifespan

Yeah could do. I would rather swap it for a house pump but we’re talking over £200. Wife says hell no! Our current pump is in good condition and seems a shame to remove it. Resale wouldn’t be great for it either. I’ve looked at those Grundfos UPA 90 boosters that sit in line but no experience...

    Shower pump lifespan

ok, probably not a good idea then. So either fit a single impeller model for that purpose, or swap out what I have for a whole house alternative. Darn.

    Shower pump lifespan

Hi guys, I have a shower pump (RSP75) which powers two showers at the moment. It's now out of warranty and I want to use it to power hot taps as well. I know it's not designed for that but my view is to use it in a non designed config until it breaks and then replace with a house pump...

    French Door draft

Would this image be applicable to my hinges? Was thinking of adjusting the compression so it's not as tight at the top and more snug at the bottom Flaghinge1 by adwt2004 posted 23 Feb 2018 at 9:50 AM

    Problem with water supply

Just thought I’d add that the water co have been and can’t explain it. They unscrewed the meter and found it on the inside of it too so swapped it out. Will be an interesting phone call when they report findings. Pleased it’s from outside though rather than something in the house...

Crack in wall - how serious is this?

I get this in my house. Due to upstairs walls sitting on floorboards which means they move around. Has been happening for decades in my house so I wouldn’t worry. Just use good filler and accept it may happen again in a few years.

Well it forms part of the current kitchen and is already there. I am then adding an extension to the end of it.
