    University For All ??

Well said! It's the accepted thing these days that young people must go to university whether or not they have the ability to knuckle down and do some real studying. The trouble is many of them aren't capable but they are catered for by being provided with Mickey Mouse courses which award...

Relacing a CV joint on a Citroen Picasso (2002)

If it's the o/s shaft you're taking out you'll also have the intermediate bearing to deal with. Here's a piccy that might help. The cotter bolt that holds the bottom balljoint in is No71. Then you'll need lots of leverage to get the bottom ball free. Definately a two man job.

Yes - I got one last Saturday. Didn't look at it till I got home. A quick check through and it went in the bin. Some of Asda's prices have gone beserk recently - and some of them are really weird. See:- 200gm jar of coffee £4. 300gm jar £4. Or 100gm bag of hazelnuts £1.42; 200gm bag £1.48

    Peugeot 407SW Diesel probs

Eolys fluid is developed and manufactured by Rhodia Chemicals solely for Citroen/Peugeot - which I guess is why they can charge such exorbitant prices for it. Adblue is a similar fluid used by Mercedes. Other makes of diesel engines show a warning light when the filter is getting full and an...

    Peugeot 407SW Diesel probs

The Eolys tank is above the n/s back wheel, close to the fuel tank. A heat shield needs to be removed and the tank can be lowered by means of removing two bolts. A 4 ltr kit of fluid and filling tubes can be had for an eye-watering 120quid. The cat is before the filter and in the same...

    Fire Brigade strikes

My mate retired from the LFB about five years ago. I remember him telling me how he loved being on a 15 hour night shift. A couple of hours maintenance work, followed by watching some DVD's, followed by some kip until there was a call - if there was one. A few nights of that then he was...

    Peugeot 407SW Diesel probs

The Eolys fluid is injected into the diesel at fillup time. The Ecu calculates how much fuel has been taken on board and injects the correct amount of Eolys. There are two pressure sensors in the FAP, one at each end. When the reading between the two reaches reaches a certain level, the...

    Fascia, Soffits & Gutting Cost

Just had mine done during the summer. Mine is a three bedroom semi but with a converted loft so two dormers. Also bay windows with a firly large bargeboarded gable over the bays. They errected scaffolding down the side - complicated because of a carport - and also on the back to reach the...

    LED bulbs ????

I've replaced the sidelight bulbs with LEDs in my Citroen C5 - mainly because to replace them the front bumper needs to be taken off and the headlamps unbolted. I've done it twice in five years so hope the LEDs will last. Funny thing is the sidelights now stay on for 5 minutes after...

    Toilet Leak Help!!!!

I fitted a new rubber ring in mine a couple of days ago. It's water tight without any sealer on it. Have you got your cistern sitting on the pan at the correct angle? Try fitting both together without screwing the cistern to the wall.

need to lift up toilet pan

Your big problem will be what to do until you get it refitted. You won't move it, fix the flooring and refit the pan all in five minutes. As for how difficult - depends on whether it's close-coupled or not. If it's close-coupled, the cistern has to be moved as well and that means...

    Clutch, gearbox.......or even worse?

If you're loosing oil, you need to find out where it's coming from. Check the gearbox oil level. The level plug is under the nearside wheel arch. You may have to remove the wing liner to get two it. The end of the transmission will be facing you - the level plug is the biggest bolt on...

    What boiler? Rough price guestimates?

I'm no expert - but two things occur to me. You'll need extra insulation on the HWCylinder because lofts can be outside temperature, and where are you going to install the cold storage tank to give you sufficient pressure.
