    Temporarily disable contacts/sensors

Yes, but I would rather not deactivate complete zones for example I have 2 kitchen doors and only one is affected by works and both on same zone, my question is if possible eg to twist the deactivated contact wires together and alarm will see as ok?

    Temporarily disable contacts/sensors

Bump. Any advice? If I just twist each set of cables on themselves will that complete the circuit and system will identify as closed/secure?

We are having an extension done and they will be breaking through and removing back French doors/windows which currently have contacts and 1 PIR will also need to be temp removed. What is the correct way to temporarily remove them from the system so we won't get errors whilst arming rest of...

    Replace RG59 with CAT5

Any recommendation for a system to go for? I need 4 cameras. I currently have a dome shaped swan at entry door, then I need one that can cover 15m narrow alleyway, 1 for 7.m x 15 m garden and other for front of house so a wide angle.

    Replace RG59 with CAT5

During house refurbishment I asked alarm guy to prepare cabling for CCTV. He prepared what I can now identify as RG59 Coaxial Cable + 2 Core Power CCTV cable. He connected one to the entry sytem and left 3 blanks which would cover alleyway/front and back of house I have been looking around for...

Texacom - Extending house - what to do with alarm?

Thanks so much. Pre extension we currently have a 1x PIR, 3 x window contacts and 2 x backdoor. Extension is going to have a bifold door and skyroof window. So I could just extend the PIR to position better. That leaves with 5 available wires. 1 I would use for the roof window and how many...

would you trust the new smart alarm system or better with traditional alarm?

I am not an alarm specialist and guys like SecureIAm most definitely are, but I do have an IT background. Any smart wireless system is more vulnerable that hard wired. Hackers manage to get into military systems. Obviously decision should always be based on risk vs practicality. Eg. I would...

Texacom - Extending house - what to do with alarm?

Hi, we have an Elite 24 We are looking at building a rear extension. Is it possible to just extend the alarm cables to reach the new windows? Should we be looking rather at ricochet? Any recommendations for reasonable london based installer?

Valliant boiler in summer mode - no hot water

So mistake was the service engineer activating summer mode and this in turn deactivated the HW aswell because I am not using valiant controls. I have turned the CH up and hopefully problem solved. Thanks so much!! Any consensus whether it should be 65c (bunny) or 70-75c (Crofton)? Does it work...

If I press the heating button and set it to 0, an umbrella icon comes up which is the Summer mode symbol https://www.vaillant.co.uk/downloads/ecotec-plus-user-manual-261421.pdf

Valliant boiler in summer mode - no hot water

Boiler is controlled by a Horstmann H37xl timer. Hot water is on time mode, and 2 zone central heatings are set to On all day because they are controlled seperately by Honeywell C907. I know over kill...

Valliant boiler in summer mode - no hot water

No, service engineer put it into summer mode. As I have thermostat control I put it back to 70c (advised by Crofton earlier on in thread).

Valliant boiler in summer mode - no hot water

Thanks. Are any of these likely to have been caused by service engineer? Was all working fine prior to service.
