Of course there is - Germany has been on generation 4 for years. :)

2 bedroom home needs to have 2 parking spaces?

Some new housing is deliberately built with no parking provision in order to limit the use of cars. Does that mean that legally they have no bedrooms?

Correct and safe sealing around mains cable and other cables - mice

I've had several feet of live cable stripped bare by rats in the barn. I've never seen an electrocuted rat, and they seem to be able to operate with impunity. Nothing to do with enlarging an entrance - they eat the plastic, or perhaps chew it up for nest material.

    "Electrical Fault" Definition

Pedantically I don't think electricity has the mental capacity to exhibit "fault" . Only humans can have faults, eg in the way they handle natural forces such as electricity.

Bathroom Fan - condensation in pipe

Does the exit have blow-back flaps or just a fixed louvre? In recent gales and rain I've found wind can drive rain almost anywhere. High at the apex of a roof would be a prime target for catching gusty wind.

Tumble Dryer Pins getting red hot

Red hot means they were glowing red. Only a lunatic would touch something red-hot. :)

    Faulty Economy 7 timer

There are other devices that consume electricity that can be programmed to come on at night, not just storage heaters. Or perhaps the owner worked unconventional shifts? Or had a dirty job, or perhaps a large young family? As has been stated, there used to be a bigger price differential between...

    Faulty Economy 7 timer

We inherited a system exactly like the OP's 35 years ago - The entire system ran at the E7 rate during the hours determined by the timer, but during those hours it also switched on a separate consumer unit which supplied storage heaters and also a separate network of cables and outlets which...

Wood burning stove Flue travelling along wall

The previously attached screenshot says up to four 45 degree angles are acceptable, 90 degrees being regarded as two. So the doubt is whether your 15 degree run is acceptable, rather than the turns. I'd use two 45 degree turns and increase the indoor run to 45 degrees. You'd get more heat...

    Hard standing drainage regulations

My point is that if the ground is already sodden then additional rainwater will run off. So a permeable surface will become impermeable just in the circumstances when it is supposed to be preventing run-off.

    Getting rid of rats

I've several times found several feet of cable in our barn, neatly stripped of all insulation, power still on. I've never found any electrocuted rats. There are only two possibilities that I can see: a) They drag a piece of insulated board to stand on while they very delicately nibble round...

    Hard standing drainage regulations

What does that mean? "Permeability" surely depends on how dry the ground is and how hard it is raining? If the ground is sodden and it is pouring with rain then all the water will run off just about anything.

    Desk lamp repair advice

You need to get the ring undone and remove the shade because otherwise it can restrict the screwing of the other part onto the base. Check that the bit with the 2 prongs is fully pressed into the base, and not sitting on a bundle of wires. Fit the upper part into the two notches correctly, and...

LPG Bottles - where are they allowed to be? What regs govern placement etc?

You can keep a gas bottle next to another gas bottle, and that's a lot more inflammable than any window, downpipe, waste pipe. :)

    Decking complaint (threads merged)

Then the law is indeed an ass :) If that is really true then I could easily construct decking level with the first floor, accessible through an upstairs window. Presumably decking can have a low fence around it - a balcony in fact?

    Decking complaint (threads merged)

Height has to be measured from somewhere close to the house, surely? If I placed decking flat on the ground at the top of the garden and continued it, level, back to the house, it would be about twenty feet above the apex of the roof. :)
