Apart from the heat exchanger sump that rots through, leaking manifold, leaking flow switch, leaking condensate trap, explosive ignition, electrodes that fall apart, burners that fall apart, connectors that fall apart and so on the baxi solo he is a great boiler!

These boilers have had a modified spark generator due to nuisance lockouts. They also have a known problem of poorly made heat exchangers on the early he versions where the sumps rot through and leak condensate and fumes. These are not diy boilers.

Stuff I've seen

Magnacleans are absolute rubbish, poorly made plastic crap. the isolation valves leak, including the new style, bleed points leak or snap off, lids seize on, o rings leak, lids work loose (if they haven't seized). they're only designed to last 10 years, I'd be surprised if they last that long...

What you'll find is the sump gets cleaned but the trap simply washed through. The manufacturers engineers told me they never remove the trap but just pour water through the main heat exchanger to check if the trap is not blocked.

get a honeywell wireless stat, it's a lot less hassle than running cable from your room stat to the programmer and from the room stat to the valve.

You get any more water through a boiler than it's designed to do! The boiler internals are designed for a maximum flow that you can't exceed. It's all a lie by an incompetent engineer anyway as it wouldn't make the diverter fail. All that happens when the flow is too high is the water doesn't...

The condensate trap is actually a combustion seal and when replaced HAS to have water in it otherwise fumes will go through the condensate pipework

the original 330 was a fantastic boiler and the 330+ is a huge step down in quality. as said made by glowworm. if it's a worcester it's normally a greenstar junior.
