    How to refill my Boiler?!

So how does it work? How does water passing into a hot water cylinder via the fillong loop (or vice versa) find its way into the radiators to replace the missing water? I thought the water in the radiators was separate. Sorry if being dumb.

    How to refill my Boiler?!

The airing cupboard is an interesting place... you are looking at two hot water tanks that are heated from the gas boiler, and also from solar panels. But with electric heating back up. The filling loop in the picture is connected to the second hot water tank. Will do tomorrow!

    How to refill my Boiler?!

As requested here are more pictures of my boiler room. Can you spot a filling loop? Looking under my sink it seems that the outside tap does have a check valve, so filling from the hose may be a do-able!

    How to refill my Boiler?!

Ah makes sense. So the radiator that i have just added back to the system, which is still isolated at each valve and empty if water would be the ideal candidate. I am learning lots today. Thanks.

    How to refill my Boiler?!

Thanks for the help! I will give filling it a go at the weekend! Is this access point the same place where you would try to insert corrosion inhibitor?

    How to refill my Boiler?!

Below is a further shot of the underside of the boiler, showing the "tap". I had a good look around the boiler room and could not find any filling loop or flexi hoses. Thinking about it the boiler room is a separate external area and not near any sources of water (e.g. sinks). I also found...

    How to refill my Boiler?!

Thanks for the input. So what does the condensate pipe do? Is it typically full of water under pressure (like the rest of the system), and would I need to some how empty the system before cutting the pipe? Or is it some form of "overflow", so cutting the pipe won't lead to a horrendous flood...

    How to refill my Boiler?!

Thanks. I will grab a new picture tonight. When looking for the filling loop, what pipe do I need to try to trace?

    How to refill my Boiler?!

Hi, I have a Worcester Greenstar gas boiler and I recently removed some radiators to decorate. I now need to add the radiators back into the system and refill them and try to get the bolier pressure back to the correct level. Having looked online I was expecting to see the refilling point for...

    Weeping Radiator

Thanks for the advice all. Loosening it and then nipping it up seems to have sorted it. Although i may have used more force than the average girl. The next challenge is to work out how to get more water into the system and add some corrosion prevention, now that i have had thd radiator off...

The weep is below the bottom connection just above the floor.

    Weeping Radiator

Having just looked online. My description above is slightly off. The weeping connection is the bottom joint of the TRV, as the TRV is itself a "t" piece. Agile just to clarify, loosen it slightly then nip it up. How tight can you go on these without causing issues?

    Weeping Radiator

Hi, Possibly a dumb question... One of my radiators has a "t" piece at one end. This "t" piece connects the pipe that comes up from the underneath the floor to the radiator and the TRV. However where the pipe from under the floor enters this "t" piece it weeps a little. It is only a little...

    Chrome Sockets and Switches

Hi again, This morning I put the probes of the multimeter across the surface of the faceplate (on the front and back) without scraping off the surface to get to the metal underneath. In both cases the multimeter registered an open circuit. So I would assume that the surface of the faceplate...

    Chrome Sockets and Switches

Just checked again. The touching the multimeter to the faceplate shows an open circuit. Touching the multimeter to the screws that hold the faceplate in place show a path to earth and a low resistance reading (as the screws are earthing through the metal back box). So the top finish on the...
