    Hi To check if there is a blockage at the valves. Turn off both rad valves to the towel rail. Take out the air valve and fit a 1/2 " compression elbow in its place and the other end to a piece of copper/plastic pipe into a bucket. Turn on one valve turn it off, turn on other valve. HTH

    Hi Buy the replacement and you can fit all of it except the fitting into the base of the cistern. When you have it front of you it will be clear how it comes apart. FYI Twisting it will disengage it from the base. HTH

    Hi The pressure will go up when the heating is on but fall back when it cools. If the pressure still rises when the boiler is not on, then its likely the filling loop valves are passing. Make sure they are closed properly. HTH

    Hi Insulate what you can with pipe insulation. Cut a suitable track out for the joist and use carpet adhesive to keep it on. Anything on the pipe is better than nothing. HTH
