what kind of valve is on the incoming mains? is it the manufacturers combi valve or a pressure reducing valve and seperate strainer etc.

just a quick question for the op will you still pay the corgi guy if he was to connect the boiler up and run gas pipework and then as he started to commision the system it started leaking and so on and he couldnt finish commisioning the boiler due to the leaks or any other problem that arise...
