have you thought about using a pressure equalising valve?

what happend was one of my mates was doing a bit of tiling and laying some lino for a customer and he ended up putting his foot on the pipe supplying the w.c and broke the thing.he ended...
are you talking about the trap joining onto the drainer, if you are then try p.t.f.e tape , make sure you wrap it around the rubber seal and continue to wrap onto the threaded part of the drainer.
i had a similar problem, went and bought the chrome from a different suppliers and it was fine.mite be the cheaper version of chrome th none bs standard, check the pipe to see if it has a bs stamp number, or try heating it up slightly, also works.
Should i assume that the fittings are "universal" and that my cistern will not support an internal overflow

That the internals that came with the suite are a cheap conventional set that i could replace with a more expensive siphon that has an internal overflow, and that i can do away...
