Trouble is there are guitar players and then there are guitar players. You can't compare like with like. My list would include. Jimi Hendrix Jose Feliciano Eric Clapton Brian May Peter Frampton John Williams

    black smoke

Doesn't sound like your machine is washing very effectively. Try washing it on a boil wash. If the smoke still comes out black, you may have to bleach it by hand.

I find baby wipes excellent for this job.

Converting a garage, where do I get a replacement window+ do

 I really should pay more attention. I thought that page included a 2100 x 2100. It is a pretty standard size. It's also well worth checking out some of your local joiners. Their workmanship is generally far higher than the "off the shelf" product and you may be surprised at how...

Converting a garage, where do I get a replacement window+ do

These are quite close (I'm sure you can find a way to make up 30mm)

    big spiders

Due to my penchant for instant gratification, I prefer chocolate cake. Reason being that you can cook it in the microwave, whereas microwaved victoria sponge looks anaemic. I shouldn't be admitting that I know that should I   Bit of an unfortunate turn of phrase after my last...

one shot too many for the drug scum

There is one significant difference. If you drink alcahol you make a substantial donation to HM government. Take hard drugs, and you donate an even larger amount to terrorists. Albeit that those "terrorists" include the US government. Do a google on cocaine cia vietnam nicaragua. This is so...

    Shed build

10 x 8, just for tools  But seriously, if you were to go up just one more foot at the eaves, it would make it a much more useable space. Even if you only want to store tools for now, the additional height would leave your options open for the future. It would also be more appealing...

    big spiders

I quite like spiders but there are some people that like them much more than me. Have a gander at this  :?

    Lorry speeds?

WHY? Is it just some kind of power trip, to compensate for their small willies?

    Shed build

I notice you don't specify the total height. Based on wall thickness alone, if you really do use 6" (not the more common 4") you're good upto a height of 8ft. This assumes adequate latteral support is given by your roof structure. I still wouldn't be happy with the lightweight blocks though...

    Over Or Under?

I'm an over, (loose end hanging in front of the roll), the wife prefers it the other way (loose end laying against the wall). From what I gather, the rest of the family dont give a .. Our roll gets turned around about twice a day. It's like some kind of compulsive behaviour. In my own home...

    Damp poof course problems

You don't have to match the type. Any modern DPC will do the job. You should definately strive for the 4" overlap, each side, though. Carefully does it

    Building Garden Walls

Like I say, you can lay them blocks the way you describe, but it wouldn't be my prefered method. The number of blocks used would be identical to a cavity wall of the same surface area. The cavity wall would be thicker than the solid wall you propose. (although the cavity should be filled)...

    Shelving problems.....

Firstly, make sure that the obstruction is not a steel conduit (it could be carrying mains cables or even water). Be particularly suspicious if you have a light switch or plug socket immediately below or above the hole. Have another go with the drill to get into that brick. This will...

    Building Garden Walls

Lightweight are just not suitable. They absorb moisture, then disintegrate. You can do but there are other methods. What height are you planning to build?
