    Earth Loop Problem

cant remember off the top of my head now :P the fuse was a BS88 100amp the run of cable was about 30 meters at a guess, but other fuse boards were further away and didnt have problems the MI was 25mm but thats a real guess since i dont really see much MI to get to recognise it, about...

    Earth Loop Problem

hmm do you think that would be ok as a resolution ? that only breaks if there is a fault which leaks to earth, not overcurrent perhaps we can get enough on the mims to put a small enclosure with new breaker "in-line" ... would that be acceptable ? eg 100A Fuse -------100AMP...

if your earth loop is too high for the device, how can you fix the problem ? upgrade Earth conductor CSA upgrade live conductor CSA or, change the device for one which trips easier any other ways ? We got a problem after a test was carried out on a school... A fuseboard is supplied...

    Apprenticeships

If you have sent 100 letters then i would suggest looking at fixing up your personal statement or something, cant believe no one wants an apprentice .... or perhaps it could be you sent these letters out at the same time and the dont want you since you applied to everyone in the area ( if u...

    Maths assessment on course?

they might be talking about a little numeracy skills test, which they do to see if you have to do "key Skills" ... its just basic percentages (1/4 = 25% = 0.25 ) and being able to extract useful info from text to work out a problem (train leaves at 11.00 13:30 14:00, it takes 1hr to get to...

TT System - Having an RCD Installed

ok supposing you do the test when its in the ground .... what happens if u test on a dry spell .... install small earth cable because Ze is high, then it rains and Ze is lower and too high current could pass for 2.5 cable - ok its not likely to melt the cable, but for the sake of putting 10mm2...

TT System - Having an RCD Installed

having high Zs is a bad thing isnt it ? why not up the cable size meaning lower touch voltage if a fault occurs.. and faster disconnection times

    Ring Circuit with Spurs

2.5mm2 cable is not capable of carrying 30amps of current. Rings have two 2.5mm2 cables, which provides current from both sides of the ring, in theory, shares the load spreads, so 5mm2 cable is now carrying 30 amps If you spur off with one length of 2.5mm2, and add multiple sockets, the...

    Continuity testing - unplug everything?

Aslong as you dont insulation resistance test them, it shouldnt make a difference. R1, R2. Rn shouldnt be a problem since you dont test Live to neutal, you test both ends of the rings L-L, N-N, Pe-PE, or on radial R1+R2 by shorting Live and Earth at the last socket

    WYLEX RCD 63A 30mA.

isnt it a better idea to determine a use before you buy something ? if u plan to get an electrician in, then its probably better idea to let him/her just buy the parts as they will know what they plans to do, and it should all be done with the right parts then
