ok supposing you do the test when its in the ground .... what happens if u test on a dry spell .... install small earth cable because Ze is high, then it rains and Ze is lower and too high current could pass for 2.5 cable - ok its not likely to melt the cable, but for the sake of putting 10mm2...

When you take Ze do you take the reading when the rod's in the ground ?

having high Zs is a bad thing isnt it ? why not up the cable size meaning lower touch voltage if a fault occurs.. and faster disconnection times

Aslong as you dont insulation resistance test them, it shouldnt make a difference. R1, R2. Rn shouldnt be a problem since you dont test Live to neutal, you test both ends of the rings L-L, N-N, Pe-PE, or on radial R1+R2 by shorting Live and Earth at the last socket

isnt it a better idea to determine a use before you buy something ? if u plan to get an electrician in, then its probably better idea to let him/her just buy the parts as they will know what they plans to do, and it should all be done with the right parts then
