Ryobi RLT26CDS - Not starting - Air bubbles in return

Stripped carb last night and used compressed air. Gaskets look fine but might buy a new set today. Plug is a nice colour. Just wondering if the spark is failing under compression. I've heard strange things can happen. Spark should surely be blue?

Ryobi RLT26CDS - Not starting - Air bubbles in return

I can indeed. I do state that in the first post. Not happy about colour though.

Ryobi RLT26CDS - Not starting - Air bubbles in return

I agree. I thought 0.63mm is average but manual states 0.050". It seems to be getting fuel. I stripped carb out of habit as last time it had an issue it was exactly that. Sure I drained it down though for winter so I wouldn't get a starting problem in the spring. Bulb feels...

Ryobi RLT26CDS - Not starting - Air bubbles in return

Evening Just stripped the carb off the Ryobi and needle valve, blew through all the holes and vents and the like and the damned thing still won't start. Nice fresh fuel in it. Taken out spark plug and spark looks OK'ish but a bit yellow. Apparently should be 0.050". It looked less...

Honda GCV135 with Keihin BB Carb - Surging Issue after strip

I think you're bang on the money there John. I bought gaskets, air filter, oil and a new rope for it today. I am not sure if the new gaskets actually helped because I stripped the carb down again and managed to get more carb cleaner through the 3 tiny drillings by the throttle plate. Only...

Honda GCV135 with Keihin BB Carb - Surging Issue after strip

Thanks John for continued advice. I have lent it to a friend who is desperate in need of a lawnmower at the moment as he has set up a garden maintenance business. It is far better than the trash he has bought on GT recently. He's had a conrod snap on a Mountfielf Empress and come through...

Honda GCV135 with Keihin BB Carb - Surging Issue after strip

Hi burnerman Looks like I have the professional advising me! Cool! No not that one. I did remove the ant-tamper using a soldering iron to warn it first. It is the phillips head screw to the left of that. If you watch that video I posted, which was by Seddons, it shows the guy rodding...

Honda GCV135 with Keihin BB Carb - Surging Issue after strip

Hi I've read a couple of posts on here by Mark739 and Olneys. Earlier today, I stripped down the Kehin BB carb and gave it a cleaning. There was a great video on YouTube which I followed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3S_7XpUioE At 3:30, he takes a screw out and uses a rod to...

Hotpoint FFA47X Constant Beeping and No Display

Hi I know we live in a throw-away society but I cannot bring myself to dump my fridge. I have had this Hotpoint FFA47X since late 2004. It has never defrosted correctly from Day One and interesting I found a service manual online for a FFA45W on the website called Elektro Tanya. The...

Bosch WFK2200 Washing Machine - Conditioner not filling

I got around to testing voltages on the double valve solenoid. There appears to be no voltage to the yellow side but there is to the white side. Basically, the WM main wash will not fill below 40 degrees and I had worked out that this is the likely culprit. The yellow side seems to fill...

Bosch WFK2200 Washing Machine - Conditioner not filling

Hi I have a problem with our WFK2200. I am really reluctant to give up on it as apparently it is one of the best ones ever made by Bosch in terms of longevity. It has had this particualr problem for years. I am sure it shares many traits with the WFK2300, WFK2400, etc. and a few Neff...

    Scantronic 500r+ RF Trouble

Perhaps I should have been clearer. To ensure greater security, should I change it back to what it was when it was giving me RF Trouble and try to diagnose what is causing it? I am pretty sure it is 418 MHz but someone said it is 433MHz which car key fobs seem to use. I know that they...

    Scantronic 500r+ RF Trouble

So basically I need to move the jumpers back to Jamming ON from what you are saying?

    Scantronic 500r+ RF Trouble

418MHz it is. What does this mean in real terms? The JAMMING jumper I moved the other day was to the OFF position. I cannot recall EVER touching that. So with jamming ON (as it was) would this have been the possible cause of the false alarms? Go to say I am not a fan of wireless...

    Scantronic 500r+ RF Trouble

Hello again, For years I have had the above alarm system installed. An electrical contractor friend did the wiring to the mains panel and I did all the fixing of the wiring switches. It has given nothing but trouble in terms of RF Trouble. I read on the internet somewhere that all that...

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm Fault - Seems Dead!

Thanks to all that helped me resolve my auntie's alarm problem. Think I will start a post for mine at some point. A wireless scantronic 500r+ which seems to have RF Trouble at the worst possible times. Very infuriating!

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm Fault - Seems Dead!

Hi josh451 New battery has already been installed. I felt I had to do a factory reset because the main panel lights were not coming on. I think the issue with the bell and strobe will be this dual ply timer. I didn't understand what it meant so I left it on default. Good bit of advice...

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm Fault - Seems Dead!

Update:- No! The unit didn't power up on battery only. In the end, I decided to do a full reset and it came alive. The only problem then was that I did not know all the Zones. It is complex because there are PIR's from another system wired in and they did not signal on a chime test...

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm Fault - Seems Dead!

Sorry. Should have made that clearer. I mean snip wires. Leave connected to PCB and connect snipped ends of purple wires to back up battery. If transformer (as I call it) PSU steps down to 12VDC which it must, I am just taking the wires from it, clipping them and supplementing power from...
