    The issue here is: i'm a kitchen fitter and hit the cable hidden in the wall while using a core drill. The electrical firm want to charge me for replacing the cable, and i'd like to have some defence....... :?

    After Identifying that an existing 6mm T&E cable for a hob supply is running through an external cavity wall, Is it an electricians duty to replace this cable so that it is within compliance with current regulations- before replacing the hob? Cheers in advance...... :)
