Why not put up 230V lighting, run that off the generator when you are using that, and buy an inverter and power that off the battery when you just need some lighting. You would need to put a changeover switch to swap between the genny and the inverter. Nick.

How about using a small drill bit (or something similar) as a drift, put it in from the other side and try to line up on the point of the broken key, and tap it gently with a hammer. Nick

Do you have a spare key? If you do, have you tried putting that into the lock from the other side, see if that helps push the broken key out some more. Nick.
