Intermittent boiling on a Kingfisher MF is normally a faulty pcb.

I think there are 2 different PCBs for that model so make sure you get the right one or it might turn out very costly. Make sure you specify the serial number.

If he repaired the puncture do you think he would give you a 1 year guarantee? Do you guarantee all your repairs for 1 year?

There are certainly cheaper alternatives; but reliable? They all break down at some time. If you change the whole valve it you'll probably have to drain the system and possibly alter the wiring. This version has a a little wiring centre that goes with it if I remember correctly? You could change...

Why not get a new head? They're still available.

You need to get the flame sensing electrode checked for correct positioning and continuity. If thats all ok then your looking at a fault with the pcb. Get it checked first for correct burner pressures. A service might be in order?

Fan runs at low speed when theres no demand to maintain combustion air to the pilot.

From the OPs original description it still sounds as if the valve is passing though.

The valve is probably letting by but assuming this the make of valve would be a good start before repairs are attempted.

The flue turret is probably the only reliable piece of this appliance :roll:

The fan light might be on but is it running? Can you hear it?

Good idea but over rated. They will generate a lot of work for us in the future when the plastic fails.

Polyorc? The council used loads of the stuff round here in the 70's. Supposed to leave it 24hrs to set after glueing. We didn't have time (during maintenance calls) and the tenants wouldn't have been too happy either with no water. 3hrs, job done. Never had any leaks :wink: Crap stuff...
