    Replacing water main

Normally if you replace all the lead in your house (and underground) the water supply company will replace all lead their side. So you'll connect to plastic. I take it your doing to water regulations. If so, they should connect free. If not they'll probably be a little length of lead left under...

baxi solo 15he condensing boiler problems.

Yep very common electrode fault. Baxi are still modifying it (3rd time I think) and still getting the same fault. Also the combustion door seals have a tendency to fall apart leading the overheat stat by the fan to operate.

New Baxi boiler - constantly heating water even when off?

Did your last boiler have a permanent live supply (for pump overrun)? Your new one dosen't need one so may have been wired incorrectly.

    Worcester 400 combi

The non return valves by the pumps are letting by so when the pump overrun kicks in (after hw has heated) the rads are getting hot (emptying the heatbank). Get yourself plenty of o rings for this boiler as there a pain in arse once you start to move bits around

Worcester 3.5 high flow gas boiler Fault

Gas appliances that actually need servicing.

Not even if your a landlord. A Gas safety check is all thats required. Servicing is not included in this. It all depends what you call servicing? Many defects would be picked up by the landlords check (flue/vent etc) but other checks wouldn't be done on any gas appliances.

Gas appliances that actually need servicing.

Did I say they shouldn't be serviced annually? No I didn't. What I was pointing out that the REGULATIONS (i.e. the law) don't specify if and when you do.
