Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

With the network controls the actuators are still 240v. TBH calling them 12v controls dosen't really make their function clear. They are networked controls running rs485 protocal. They communicate with the wiring center much like computers do over a network, rather than being a 12v switch...

Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

Zonal control to give different time temperature control with WC is looking good on paper. On/off zonal control with WC just wouldn't work I agree. There isn't a one size fits all way of doing things and what's in one clients best interest won't be another's. So in the right circumstances wc...

Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

In some cases I completely agree. Though not all the time. We do a lot for disabled clients where some rooms are designed to hold 24c 24/7 while other rooms are somewhat cooler. Wc ought to help this happen more efficiently.

Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

Thanks Alec, that's something to look into. Alot of our systems though are also tied into control4 though, so it gives us the problem of the controls having to work with both. Heatmiser do a boiler sequencer with WC in their commercial controls range. I'm waiting on some info back from them...

Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

The EcoTec 637 will modulate down to a minimum of 12kw, which is going to be way over the loss for any one room. No matter what the boiler won't be able to modulate down anywhere near enough than needs to be possible. Are you sure you need such a large system boiler ? If so then a low loss...

Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

For one, using seprate programmable stats allows different set back temps, and time control for each room. e.g our bedroom is a little cooler than the kids overnight, and downstairs rooms are heated for longer than the bedrooms during the day, kids bedrooms heat up earlier than ours etc. For...

Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

We've used the heatmiser kit on a few projects now both the 230v and 12v. We use emmetti actuators on pegler trv be aware not all actuators have enough travel to work a trv valve. I've gone room by room because the back of my house gets the sun most of the day. The back rooms can get toasty...

Vaillant System with 2 heating zones and hot water

I've used the heatmiser controls a few times for zoned systems. Just finished my own with a ecotec 615. 2 ufh zones. 5 rads and a under plynth in the kitchen. Each room has a programable stat and actuators in place of the trv's. The hot water is a 150l unvented. I've gone with network...

Magic Eye Amplifier & Splitting Issues!!!

Yeah ok my bad. I meant the core. But even though there is power to the eyes doesn't mean their can't be a strand or two of braid touching the core. I've seen it happen before and cause precisely the symptoms the op described. Easy way to tell is to disconnect the cable both ends and do a...

Magic Eye Amplifier & Splitting Issues!!!

More than likely a short on a cable. It only takes one strand of the braid in contact with the dielectric to cause the symptoms you describe. Try disconnecting one cable at a time and see if the other screens work. I would not recommend slx or labgear kit or one for all tbh. Antiferance have...

    Which satalite meter?

Look at the emitor satlook hd. Has just about every function you could need for domestic installs and small irs systems inc usals for motorized. Very good value for the features they have. I also have a g2 which is now my backup meter.

Regs for combi boiler flue on house extension

You started out with below a velux, then went to above or to the side of. Any which way it's adjacent to an opening window, so it's 1000mm. Either way the OP's install is wrong due to the flue length and flues in voids.

Regs for combi boiler flue on house extension

Either of those is adjacent atleast in my interpretation which requires atleast 1000mm f From the terminal.

Regs for combi boiler flue on house extension

Assuming it's a 60/100 concentric flue it's too long now, and should have been upgraded to twin pipe to go horizontal and vertical. New Flues in Voids regs are specifit about flues being accesible for inspection. 300mm for the terminal away from the wall is minimum, and must be 1000mm min...

    Underfloor Heating Setup

And did you pay for the quotes, or did you just waste the time and money of the people quoting, knowing full well you had NO intention of taking up ANY of them to do the job ? Saving yourself money is fine, but don't do it at the expense of others, you may as well just take money right out of...
