I have some conifers which have outgrown a rockery, they are 8-9' tall(after 9 years). Is it likely they would survive moving, or should I accept that they will have to go?

Can anyone tell me if there is anything simple available for testing polarity on es and ses light fittings live?? I was thinking along the lines of a screw in unit which would indicate if polarity was correct
