    Flat Roof Leak - Help!

Thanks for the reply. If they come back and put the felt underneath the first row of tiles, what should they seal it down with to the plywood underneath?

    Flat Roof Leak - Help!

Hello, I recently moved into a bungalow where I'm having some trouble with a flat roof leak. When we moved in, there was a hole in the ceiling below, where water had come through previously. When it rained, water was dripping in. We went up on the roof and found that the felt above the...

    Circuit Breaker Question

Thanks for that. We actually have two circuits that seem to power the sockets in the house. Both say 16amp. I can only assume that perhaps some more sockets were added later on.

    Circuit Breaker Question

Hi, I have a small question that I hope can be easily answered. On our circuit breaker, there is an MCB which controls all of the sockets in our living room. On the MCB, it says 16amps. Does this mean that we can only use electrical equipment up to 3,680w (16x230) in total? I ask...

    Water Meter - Leaking Water

I have corrected it, it should have read 152.218 rather than 156.218! If there was a leak between the meter and internal stopcock, wouldn't the water be leaking at the same rate whether the internal stopcock was on or off?

    Water Meter - Leaking Water

The toilet doesn't appear to be leaking. It's not push button, it has a handle. After my last post, I turned the stopcock off inside. I then checked the meter after one hour and it is now 153 390, an increase of 11, where as before, it only went up 1 when the stopcock was on. Does this...

    Water Meter - Leaking Water

Hello, We have been living in a new place for the past four months. Just after we moved in, the water company fitted a new supply pipe and a new meter for us. I checked it out of curiosity on the 8th November and it read 152.218. I looked again today and it is now 153 378. I left it for an...

    Changing Door Lock

Hello, I am trying to change the lock in a wooden side door in my house. We don't have a key for this particular door, so I just want to change the lock so we can use it. The door is currently locked. I have removed the inner door handle but am unsure of what to do next? Please could...

Replacing Hot and Cold Tap Covers

Hello, I recently had to change the washers on my bath taps. By doing so, I removed the Hot and Cold plastic covers that go in the centre of each tap handle. What is the best thing to use in order to stick them back? I don't want it to be so stuck that I can't remove them in the future...

    Chain Link Fence Posts

Hello, I am in the process of buying the bits I need to erect a chain link fence down the side of my garden, as there is no fence there currently. I've found on Amazon the fencing which looks fine but my question is about the posts. Someone mentioned to me that I could use Safety Fencing...

    Leak near Hot Water Cylinder

Hello, Thanks for all of your replies. To explain things a bit further... We have in that cupboard just a hot water cylinder, powered by an immersion heater. We don't have any radiators in the house, so this only provides hot water for taps. We also have an AGA cooker which we...
