Using a Power Washer to flush out CH Pipes

Cheers mfarrow, that's where I was going in asking how to build up the pressure. I've just been looking online and I can hire a power flushing machine for £60 and since my regular heating engineer just wants to re-pipe, I think that this is probably my best option. I don't want to...

Using a Power Washer to flush out CH Pipes

No it doesn't make much difference if I turn off all of the other radiators. I did mean a power washer, I read it on another forum, but wanted to check it out.

Using a Power Washer to flush out CH Pipes

Hi, I've been having problems on my central heating system, in that I've flushed the system twice, and then added Sentinel X400, but three weeks later one radiator is still not getting hot, only tepid. I was originally told that the pipes were full of sludge, due to being non barrier...

    Drainage connection into existing.

Thanks, I'd seen the 'P' traps, when researching, but I couldn't understand what you did with it if it should get blocked. If the drainage channel is not going through a soak away, what method is used to run them into the drain ? I've seen these run to the standard rain water drain, but...

    Drainage connection into existing.

I am installing drainage channel at the foot of a garden wall, which has drain holes in it to allow the water to flow from the garden. I intend to run this into a soakaway, but I believe that I am allowed to connect that soakaway into the main sewer, in case it overflows. What is the best...

    Citroen C3 Sensodrive Gearbox Problem

Anyone had any experience of Citroen Sensodrive Gearbox problems? Mine has had a new clutch, clutch actuator and gearbox actuator - all citroen replacement parts. It now drives superbly when going forward, but it has a problem with reverse gear. When cold it selsects reverse with no...

    yet another damp garden question...

One other thought is that you could raise the lawn section to the same height as the rear paved section in the corner. That way you shouldn't have water from the paved area at the front dumping onto the lawn ( you could run a drain / small soakaway at the end of the flags) You could then use...

Selling a house without an estate agent

Well with a complete DIY job ( Homemade FOR SALE sign in the garden) you couldn't. However, if you use the websites quoted, they offer that service as part of the package. The solicitor handles the financial transactions, and as JoinerJohn's da found out, they don't always get it right.

    yet another damp garden question...

    yet another damp garden question...

Well, only if you could be sure that all the water is moving to that point. I must admit that in your situation, I'd go with Libby Lou Lou and get rid of the grass all together - unless you desperately want to keep it ?

    House extension quote seems exessive

I agree with the point on this being a DIY forum, but the OP erecting his own scaffolding !! That's a brige too far, who is going to use it ?? No professional is going to use an uncertificated scaffolding installation.

    yet another damp garden question...

Yes, I agree, this year has been terrible, but on top of the raised beds, you've got 2 paved areas, which have to run off somewhere. May just be the overall layout that's causing the very soggy lawn.

Anorak ? - Please - old car connoisseur !! :D :D I quite like he look of it, and judging by the amount of cars it lookedlike, so did a lot of other designers. However, when you think about it, it's a good job it never made it to production - The last thing we needed was a mini "Wedge "...

Selling a house without an estate agent

Until a couple of years ago, the obstacle to selling your own home was that the major website didn't want to put private ads on, for fera of upsetting their main base, the Estate Agent. In fcat the Estate Agents were threatening to withdraw their business. There was a test case, the outcome...

    Protecting a new decking base?

It appears that there is no bomb proof way, judging by the lack of replies ! I wouldn't think there is really, it's wood after all, so all you can do is treat it as much as possible before you put the bards on, but leaving a gap in the boards as you do will allow air flow. If you've used...

    Soakaway Treasure Hunt!

Can't you use some of the safe dye used in drainage to establish if your downpipes go into the main sewer or indeed a soak away? If you put dye into the drain where the downpipe puts the rain water into the drain, and it doesn't come out into the main sewer then I would have thought that it...
