Ideas pls - to make my muddy garden presentable on a budget

By the way, if you decide to go with bark for your loose surface, contact your local tree surgeons, I bought a trailer load for £30. And it must have been abig trailer, took us all weekend to move it !! :D

Ideas pls - to make my muddy garden presentable on a budget

I know you said earlier that you are reluctant to use a loose surface because it gets into the borders, but if you use the raised bed idea this won't be the case. Loose surface is the quickest and easiest way to achieve a good result on a budget. Also consider that a loose surface may well...

    Nails or screws for decking..

You shouldn't need a pilot hole if you use decking screws, unless it's hardwood decking. http://www.screwfix.com/p/timbadeck-decking-screws-bucket-4-0-x-65mm-pack-of-1300/83693

    AIDS? - come to Britian.

Well Arron, you are in full Devil's advocate flow today, or is it just me you like to goad ?  Well, what's a debate without a devil's advocate and a worm can opener ?? Ok then, just one more post and then I'm off to a war torn African Country in an army surplus military...

    AIDS? - come to Britian.

It's not peanuts to those people who are losing their homes due to unemployment and I thought we were cutting military budgets. Just because we've been in all those conflicts doesn't make it right does it? It doesn't matter how many years the vehicles last, if they're no good in other...

    AIDS? - come to Britian.

You do seem to have become extremely excited over what basically is incorrect punctuation, or at worst missing the word "all". Nothing that Joe has said is Zenophobic, he has no irrational fear of foreigners from what I've read and far from irrational, his point of view is quite rational...

    AIDS? - come to Britian.

Well, we wouldn't need to develop special vehicles to use at our ports to protect against IEDs, we wouldn't have to spend the money we are doing on helicopters, flying the troops out the and back, even feeding them whilst they are at home if the sensationalising press are to be believed. We...

    AIDS? - come to Britian.

Interesting point of view :) However, I doubt that the "casualties" and their families would agree and you must admit that even if it is like feeding them doughnuts it would save this country a fortune and kill two birds with one stone - As it were !!

    AIDS? - come to Britian.

Not sure you'll get that Extermination policy through    However, if, as the government would have us believe, the war in Afghanistan is about National Security, we could bring all those troops home, save a fortune in Tax Payers money and utilise those same troops to...

    welding joint broken

Chill 8) No-one's condemning the OP, least of all me, but I am if nothing else a realist and an amateur weld by a learner is likely to break again, when he's using the bike and could then possibly cause injury. If you don't think you can perform a successful job, why ask in the first...

Bird Nesting Boxes - Advice Please

Thanks, I'll try that website. I had two lots nesting last year on the top of the fence and in the Hedge, but we had problems with other birds and I think the local cats and they fled before the chicks hatched. I'll probably try putting the boxes as close to where they nested last year...

Bird Nesting Boxes - Advice Please

Well, in the absence of comment I've visited the RSPB website. Yes I know, should have thought of that first   Apparently it should face between North and East - Quite a range really, I thought they would be more definite than that. Anyway at least the cats and magpies...
