Collecting rain water for water butt

My understanding of the OP was that he wanted to collect rain water from a guttering downspout, but that a bathroom waste was connected to it. This I believe is against building regs and would be a real problem if the rain water from the property was feeding into a storm drain and not the...

Collecting rain water for water butt

I would hazard a guess that the drain your sink emptys into is not the top water drain. It will actually run into the sewer. The drain pipe drain should run into the top water drain. As for it all ending up in the same place, you would need to take that up with the Water Companies - I'm...

Collecting rain water for water butt

Yeah, let's ignore the fact that they're breaking the law by putting waste into the top water drainage system

Collecting rain water for water butt

I'm no expert, but bathroom sink waste shouldn't be feeding into the top water drain anyway. They should be going into your soil pipe. If you correct this, your problem will be solved. :D :D

    Anyone here use FleaBay ?

JJ, the ownership does pass to you as soon as you apy and get a receipt. I have bought on ebay before and got day insurance cover for bringing the car home. www.dayinsure.com. It only cost me about £14 and was well worth it. It is also worth noting that the law has changed regarding...

"The law has no right --

Just take a minute to read exactly what you wrote there and then you will hopefully realise just how arrogant your comment is. The thought that you Christians are allowing everyone else to practise their own views. WOW how good and condescending of you. This is a free country that allows...

Sorry, but it doesn't. I've pointed out that civil ceremonies are nothing to do with any church. You god botherers are all the same, you think that because you belive in a work of fiction you are correct. Unfortunately you aren't.

    How's that for Gratitude ??

Just read that apparently we have paid £27million pounds in overseas aid to Argentina. Their thanks ? - A Trade embargo on the Falklands and still claiming the Falklands are theirs, whilst also claiming that stationing Prince William on the Falklands as a Rescue Pilot is an act of...

"The law has no right --

Well that point wasn't obvious to me !! Are you then agreeing that the C of E is above the law, or is in someway able to dictate laws ? This may well have been the case several 100 years ago, but times have changed and although this country may well have been built on christion values, I...

Renault Clio W reg Immobiliser issues

Hi, Firstly, you don't need to go to Renault for a replacement key, you can get one for far less from one of the mobile car lock specialists. My daughter had a clio of the same year and because the key was chipped we couldn't get a copy at Timpsons ( Bear with me ), but they have a mobile...

Garden is a bog - land drainage ?

My back garden has a similar problem, although not as bad as yours, in fact your pictures have cheered me up and I wonder what i'm worrying about!! I have heavy clay soil and I would agree with the previous poster that soak aways will most probably not work. When you get the top soil I...

Using a petrol post auger near hedge, bad idea?

The roots are going to be a problem when you're digging as well. I've used the petrol augers and found them very good, if you haven't got a bad back, you soon will have after digging holes with a spade. Try one of the manual Augers, if you're bothered about the petrol one jamming on roots...
