Is it the end for the Pirate Bay?

Think he's refer to 'electronic dance music'. I fail to see how illegally stealing the work of an artist boosts interest in music? 99% of artists struggle to make a living making music, and people's blase attitude to downloading their music illegally compounds the problem. It's ok saying that...

How can you deport somebody that was born in this country and is British? Where would they be deported to?

Is it time to ban cigarettes/tobacco?

You mean like we already have? Alcohol is a very dangerous drug and isn't far of being as harmful as the hard drugs you've mentioned. That isn't my opinion either, it's a medical fact. Many people choose to ignore this however as its seen as socially acceptable to drink alcohol and get drunk...

Is it time to ban cigarettes/tobacco?

Admit what? I admitted that 99.9% of drug users aren't junkies robbing old grannies to feed their habits. Just like 99.9% of people who drink Alcohol drink it sensibly. Your the one trying to paint a false story that every drug user must be a junkie. Drop your copy of the Daily Mail and get into...

Is it time to ban cigarettes/tobacco?

Did you miss out the bit where i said the 'vast majority'? Obviously the heroin addicts & crack addicts aren't normal people and are suffering from a horrible addiction. But you know what *shock horror* not every drug user is a heroin addict robbing old grannies to feed their addictions. I know...

Is it time to ban cigarettes/tobacco?

Why not? Current policy doesn't work and has been a waste of tens of billions of pounds worldwide. The 'war on drugs' will never be won so it's a fruitless exercise continuing with it. Nobody is advocating that you would be able to freely buy hard drugs down the local newsagents. What people who...

Is it time to ban cigarettes/tobacco?

It's staggering that Alcohol & tobacco are legal despite killing 100's thousands a year, yet certain drugs which are far less harmful are illegal. The 'war on drugs' has been a staggering failure and such a waste of money. Drugs should be legalised, regulated and taxed. Why is it ok for somebody...

    test pipe work

That's exactly what I said. You test at one and a half times the usual operating pressure. Why would you test at 10 bar when a lot of fittings and valves can only operate at a maximum of 10 bar? Why risk damaging something by testing to a pressure that is more than 5 times the normal...

    test pipe work

Why would you test to 10bar? Some fittings/valves have a maximum operating pressure of 10bar, so testing to 10 bar would be a bit foolish. You only need to test to 1 1/2 times working pressure.

Unified waste pipe diameter and material

Simple answer is don't use a DIY store. The majority of the staff working there are numpties with little knowledge. Just go to a local merchants and if your unsure what you need give them a rough idea of what it is your doing and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Plus its...

Should the condense pipe have a fall angle

It's always been required to run in 32mm outside. I've been to jobs where a 32mm condensate has frozen, god knows what it's like with 19mm running outside in winter!

Why are all these sparkies so bothered anyway?

    The crumbustion chamber?

Wrong. The legislation says you need to be competent. However, the only proof of competency is the passing of the ACS examination. So if you haven't passed those then your aren't competent, Simples!

    The crumbustion chamber?

Have a missed something here? Has the law changed recently and the law now doesn't apply if your in your own home? Strange one that not heard about this yet! I'm not too fussed tbh, if somebody is too tight fisted to pay somebody to do the job correctly then that's their choice. I wonder...

    The crumbustion chamber?

What? How can a DIY'er not realise they're incompetent? If you weren't sure what your doing, which is what would happen with a DIY'er, then clearly your incompetent. Isn't that a bit obvious? I don't know much about cars so i wouldn't try to change my clutch since i'm not competent.

    The crumbustion chamber?

Nope, but they'd get treated less harshly than an arrogant DIY'er who thinks they know everything and gives little regard to the safety of others. The majority of people prosecuted are DIY or cowboy unregistered tradesmen. I don't know why people risk it tbh. Granted a few DIY'ers will...

    The crumbustion chamber?

Try reading what i said  If a DIY'er got something WRONG, how could he then be competent? In the eyes of the law the only way of proving competence in gas work is by passing the ACS examinations.

Jo-90 what's with the large chip on your shoulder? You Seem quite bitter about something, is it because your a jack of all trades master on none?

    The crumbustion chamber?

There's no requirement to hold any qualifications to do DIY gas work, only a requirement to be competent. However the health & safety authority only recognise the ACS qualification as proof of competency. So unless a DIY'er has passed his ACS he'd be up in court if anything ever went wrong.
