    Isar HE30 problems!

H9, L9 Fault are a bloody nightmare with this boiler. Its due to the heat exchanger over heating. More often than not it's caused by air in your heat ex an/or the pump being jammed. I've had the damn things come out the box and flash this as soon as you fir it up' Have you tried manually...

    Anti-Syphon Trap

Am i correct in assuming the plumber you spoke to is the plumber who fitted it in the first place?? If so i'd be wondering wot is causing it rather than a retro fit item like a anti-syphon trap. How many other outlets, appliances are connected to this waste run? what size discharge pipe work...

Ideal Response 120 Combi Loud Rumbling

When you say rumbles? and causes the seals to break. Have you ever witness the outer casing bend. These bag of poo boilers where reknowned for lumpy ignition or as we knew it by explosive  so explosive where some of these that vertical flue terminals used to be found 200 yards down the...

Am I on the right track?

You would have to cap both the flow an return from the cylinder at the bolier connection. A 1" black iron plug or 2 28 mm cap ends for the pipework. the cylinder return would have to be tee'd into the heating circuit as the last return on the circuit to prevent reverse circulation. Also i would...

    gas smell

You've got two choices. Well really one. Ring an RGI up to sort the problem. Or ring Transco who'll check the system, if there is a leak they'll TOFO. But not before placing a lovely card informing you if you turn it back on your lible to a £5000 fine. Which leads me back to first option. Ring a...

Help please - how do I connect to old 7/8" pipe?

the old inch fitting is smaller than 28mm, so i theory could grip onto your slightly larger 22. Or try undoing the threaded fitting and taking it to bss or pipe center and asking them if they've got anything to help you out. failing that the copper weigh in will certainly help with the payment...

    No hot water without heating!

It's not that it doesn't work, it's just an old system. wot we call a gravity hw with pumped heating. without a full update to fully pumped or combi etc am afraid your stuck. there is a thing we called a summer/winter valve but it's not a very p.c. way of dealing with your current situation...

    bbu spillage test

I didnt intend to pull the guy down, would never do it intensionally. Point am getting at is, who's teachin, or giving these chaps/ladies (politically correct these days :) ) the background training to enable them to even get to the stage where a test centre says "yes you've done enough to take...

Help please - how do I connect to old 7/8" pipe?

By 7/8th do you mean 3/4 copper? or is it 20 thread copper. 3/4 is smaller than 22mm so no filling required. fittings just slip straight through. 20 thread is a whole new ball game

Boiler quote - is this a tidy quote?

Personally i'd of gone with a vaillant. 831 at a minimum. 4 peoples=lots of water usage. how would this boiler heat the house up when it's getting used at all different times of the day. Big demand for lots of use! And what about when the HIMO reg is placed upon you. this boiler won't cope with...

    bbu spillage test

I thought the whole point of ACS was to test comptence in areas of gas work you already under take? Or has it changed that much in five years? "just curious but why when lighting a pilot do alot of boilers ask to turn thermostat to zero and switch off electrics at mains?" Just have a think...
