Can you not just add a packer plate onto the plaster board to mount onto?

It's up to you really, the heat exchanger costs about 70 quid. If you haven't got the cash to get a new boiler then obviously a heat exchanger replacement and a decent service is in order.

Something tells me you figured this one out by yourself now :)

As Dan said, it can be replaced and the replacement part number is indicated in the back of the installation manual.

Where is the leak?

So... You shut the stop cock. I assume you have an empty tank now then? Are you constantly running the hot taps down stairs and they are not stopping? Are they still hot? Is the cylinder empty?

Try what Agile has suggested. There seems to be a fault being indicated by the programmer / stat! You could try ringing technical: - 08705 266241 ?

I guess you are following the instructions that came with the programmer?

You say you have a flashing green light... where?

Couple of things to start you thinking: - Is it a new install, I guess not? What's your flow rate? Is a flow regulator fitted? Are the isolating valves fully open? Is the hot water inlet strainer blocked?

What shower is installed? Do you get hot water from all other taps without issue?

Got any indications on the blue light? Flashing or anything? When the Eco mode is illuminated, this cancels the default pre-heat setting, so it cannot be the DHW pre-heat kicking in.

You should have measured everything before you went and installed a new shower. It should be standard that you would check to make sure your system will be compatible, otherwise, what's the point in following the MI! What shower did you install? What's your flow rate and pressure?

Please tell me that you have checked that the valves are open when you refill the system? Well, assuming that your valves are all ok, you will need to add the cleaner via the F&E tank, as suggested. Drain the system, shut off the inlet to the F&E tank, clean the tank out, shut the drain...

Use a chemical cleaner to get rid of the old sludge, if you cannot rod it out. Remember, use the chems as directed and follow the COSHH advice printed on the lable, they are corrosive chemicals and not very good for you at all :) If that doesn't sort your issue out, I make sure that the...
