Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Thanks! It's got Santon PP150B on it. That sounds exactly like what my neighbour said - some sort of extra wire that needed removing?? They weren't very technical on the matter either but, they said it was some sort of wiring problem and all the plumber did to fix it was take it out...

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

 You probably missed it amongst the waffle in my first post but, the builders are arranging for a plumber to come round...it helps to know a little about these things though rather than feeling completely clueless - you've probably gathered from my posts, I'm not exactly miss technical...

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

'Like normal people' hahahaha thanks. Not sure why you need to know but....we moved in when the weather was good so had little need for radiators, after we got the first bill we freaked thinking what on earth it would have been had we had them switched on so, they've been off ever since then...

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Exactly - its crazy. I'm not implying it, I'm stating it. It wasn't even our intention to have that one radiator on...I'd have turned it all off at the mains if I'd realised the boiler was burning gas for no purpose. When people in the press have made comments about turning thermostats down...

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Just checked the airing cupboard - I can see one of the second ones (the one that looks straight across the bottom rather than a 'T')...just one though, can't see two, should they be together? Sorry for being so useless at all this! Thanks for trying to help despite my uselessness! Jo

I switched the wall stat down to zero today (it was previously sat at 10) and fingers crossed, the boiler hasn't fired up yet, yes. Jo.

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Thanks - yes the boiler has been constantly on. We had the programmer set to the 1-2hours of WH that we wanted but the boiler seems to do what it likes regardless of that. Yes, it could have been switched it off at the mains (as could the gas supply) but, we were told by the building company...

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Thanks - I will do, that's really helpful. Sounds right - the programmer is never on for CH, yet the radiators would all automatically get hot if we turned the temperature valves up. Jo :D

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Beats me - I have no idea - it feels like the gas is just burning for no reason.... You can hear it firing up and when it does it says 'c' on the front of the boiler and the 'burner' light flashes but, all the radiators are on frost and stay permanently cold with the exception of that one...

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Thanks - hopefully the below should help explain further... All radiators are turned to the frost setting with the exception of one (it doesn't have a temperature valve on it at all). We keep the thermostat right down to try and ensure that that particular radiator doesn't come on either -...

Please Help! - Boiler constantly firing.

Hi! Im in desperate need of some advice... I moved into a new build property last year and noticed the bolier was constantly firing up even when the programmer on the wall was switched to off. I raised this at the time with the building company who told me it was perfectly normal. (1-Is...
