    Loft Insulation

Is there anything wrong with insulating a loft hatch with 2" polystryene - the stuff that breaks off beads as you scratch it? I remember somehting as a kid about fire risk but can't see that's significant for a cover in the loft. Can I paint the stuff to seal in the 'beads'? Stee

    loft conversion

I had someone around to quote on a loft conversion - he killer was the fire regulations. I would need to build stud partitions in my open plan dining room/stair well area to create a 'self contained' exit from top floor to front door - all way too complicated, messy & expensive. I guess a better...

    cavity wall insulation

Does anyone have any advice or are able to point me to a website with info. on the different types of caviy wall insulation. I'm finding it difficult to get impartial advice. I hear 'rocksil' is 'best' then I hear a fibreglass alternative is 'best' as 'rocksil' attracts damp! steve
