    Building a Patio base.

Since you'll need to add hardcore whatever you do, perhaps the best thing to do would be to extend the current shed base you have to the size of the patio you require and then lay your patio on top of that. The link below is for a recent thread on this same subject...

    Sheds with Beds.

No wonder we are over run with illegal immigrants that we don't expel, when liberal attitudes like yours prevail.

If the BBC can find them so easily, why can't immigration?

In which case, they may as well fail the car on the advisories, because if you want to sell the car before the next MOT the buyer is going to want anything shown fixing anyway !!!

A complete novice - Decking or Patio?

It depends really, on how deep the dips are. Your decking joists will be 4" x 2" minimum and ideally 6" x 2". If you can use 6" x 2" on top of the existing concrete and depending upon which way they are running in relation to the " dip " it may be possible to just shim under the joists at the...

    corsa c coolant

If you're absolutely convinced there is no leak, it might be worth considering an air lock. I can't explain why, but years ago I had a car that did exactly what you describe and it turned out that the cooling system was airlocked. Once the air lock was cleared the problem was also cleared.

Water proofing the bottom of fence posts idea

Or you can paint the section to be buried in concrete with bitumen. Or even do that in addition to Big Al's suggestion.

    Turf or Lawn Seed

Be careful what you use to kill the weeds, or it may well be that the seed won't grow in the soil for quite some time. Best Thing to do is remove the weeds, dig them up as much as possible, then decide between seed and turf. However, growing a lawn from seed can be a timely process, but...

    Alternative to creocote?

When you say the wood is going, I assume that you mean rotting. The best wood to use on fences is tanalised timber, because it is guaranteed for 10 years and 15 in some cases. I am surprised at the problems experienced with Cuprinol, but as suggested it may depend upon the type used. I...

A complete novice - Decking or Patio?

I would say it's possibly easier to get a nice level tidy job by using decking. Laying paving slabs is probably harder to do uniformly over such an area. However, if the area is straight out of your back door, be aware that decking can be slippery in winter when wet, not just when frozen.

    Automatic cars.

When I referred to the CVT developed in F1, I was refrring to the batch of transmissions that appeared in the early 90s in Fiesta, Micras and Punto, to name but three and are still present in some models to this day, with some further development. Admittedly the old Daf belt drives were CVT...

I was in no way suggesting that there was anything wrong with the replies and if you remove the words"Sorry, but " from my reply, you'll see that I'm singing from exactly the same hymn sheet as you. However, I do feel sorry for newbies on the Electrical forum, because they don't exactly get...

    adding a new socket

Sorry Razzler, but you left yourself wide open to those replies. In your scenario, instead of adding another socket, why don't you just fit one of these to your existing:- http://www.screwfix.com/p/clipsal-converta-skt-2g-to-3g-polycarbonate/12362 It should help tidy up your wires...
