the oil boiler i have is a vitola 100 but it is controlled by the vitotronic 150 probably not that different (electronic control-wise) as the boiler you are talking about. as i said i can't remember all the coding addresses i played around with last year but A5 rings a bell as one of the...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

i mistakenly refered to my controller as a vitotrol 150 in the title when it is in fact a VITOTRONIC 150...and no, i don't think they are used in the uk market. i have tried recoding A5 but to no avail. back last winter i could tell you from memory which codes did what but i'm only just...

    UFH pump running continuously

the reason this problem came to light at my house is that i would be woken in the night with the sound of water running through my rads, that's another downside to the contant pump operation. i think the outside temp compensation is a fine idea but it's a shame it doesn't achieve its purposes...

ah, mystery man...input from him would be good but if he replied now it would spoil all the mystery :) i have contacted viessmann.de and have had suggestions relating to various codings i could try but nothing has worked as yet.

    UFH pump running continuously

i agree. i doesn't seem that difficult to arrange a regular sampling of heating water or even memorise the last temps recorded and using the outside temperature and some algorithm or other i'm sure the controller could ascertain when it may be sensible to run the pump to re-sample the water...

    UFH pump running continuously

can viessmann explain to you what the logic is behind the continuous pump operation? i've got a similar problem with a viessmann vitotronic 150 controller which has the pump running all the time even when the boiler water is cold. if i change the reduced room temp to the lowest setting it stops...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

**Resurrection** Ok, it's time to heat again and my problem is still here. I bought a vitotrol 200 room stat/controller but it's made no difference: if reduced room temp is set to 3 deg C then the pump stops immediately after heating cycle leaving the 70 deg c water to dissipate heat in the...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

yes i had a quick look but it's just a short description of the vitotrol 200 as an accessory for the vitotronic. thanks for the effort though.

the first link is actually for the vitoTRONIC 200 rather than the vitoTROL 200...confusing names they have used! insulating the shed? ha ha! that's certainly possible but i would find it extremely bizarre if that was the only way to avoid unnecessary heat loss. i intend to contact viessmann...

barry, just to save you time, i mean the installation instructions rather than user instructions. regards,

hi again barry, if you have the time, i would much appreciate a copy of the english instructions for the vitotrol 200 if you can upload them. i am convinced it is not working correctly even though the vitotronic control has recognised it and shows the correct room temp. thanks, john.

    viessmann vitotrol 150

hi barry, so you're much further south than me. i used about 100 litres in a week just after the new year. we came back from a christmas trip to the uk and the place was very cold so i thought i'd let the heating loose for a while and then after a week i looked at the tank gauge.... as i...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

i'd love to have the boiler going all the time, the problem is that i can't afford it. i know the pump alone (and any heat lost into the boiler shed) is a pretty small amount of money compared to a tankful of oil but it would still equate to leaving 3 of your light bulbs non-low energy and most...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

50 watts? we could be talking almost 24/7 so it's a fair amount of energy used for nothing. evenly heated house? to be fair it's not bad... but the pump running constantly cannot help achieve this in any sensible way. if the pump takes 0.5 seconds to get water flowing from a standing start...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

hi to all, i thought i had solved my problem of pump running unnecessarily but it seems that it's not that simple. i am pretty sure i had stopped it pumping all the time after i recoded some values but i then noticed that the boiler temp would stay very high after the heating had switched...

Stihl 021 chainsaw dies at high revs

very late addition: mine was down to some crap collected in the carb in a little metal gauze plug, called a 'welch plug' i think. it requires the removal of carb and then carefully take the bottom/top off where the needle valve is, if i remember rightly. you've got to pretty delicate getting...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

i don't think i'm worrying about it but i am stating a fact about the cooling effect. probably has about the same effect as leaving one of your windows single glazed - not the end of the world, but something you'd like to get sorted sooner or later. naturally the boiler is set to 'hot water...

    viessmann vitotrol 150

i'm not saying that rads are efficient cooling devices Agile, but due to the laws of physics a rad at 2 deg. C MUST absorb heat from a room that is even at 3 deg. C. and so much more when the room is at 18 or 20 degrees.
