    If you have a crack in the house the chances of water getting in are increased. If you didnt ring them too look at a crack in your house they maybe didnt notice it but if youve got damp anyone worth their salt would of picked up on it unless they were only interested in selling you dampproof...

    you dont need to take a chunk out just cut into it or use a piece of card to find the profile and you will have to practice your 45s :wink:

    cut into the original and take a profile, contact any fibrous workshop and they will run you as many lengths as you require.

    Do not believe anyone at bellways, ive worked on plenty of them and i wouldnt start pulling floor boards up if youve got a heart condition :wink: this proves my point "rang a desk jockey in bellway, he said you can do what you like with the walls" :shock:

    stilts are the dogs b*****s if you plan on plastering in the future. Depending how tall you are get the right size stilts that will give you the right height for 2.4m ceilings which usually are the norm. so go from the lowest setting and add your height.

    are you sure the walls not running out 7mm? It depends what you actually agreed to pay for at the beggining, you should of been made aware of plaster coming off and negotiated a price. Did they remove the rubbish and supply the casing and lintel in the price? are they hanging the door?

    use a sponge to clean off the exess, it sets like concrete and is impossible to sand down.
