    Mira 415 not shutting off

It sounds like the valve is need of some attention. Strip and clean and replace all seals using the service pack for this shower. found at > http://www.mirashowers-store.co.uk/products/mira-415-service-pack.aspx They are good valves, if you feel this work is not for you any competent...

Check valve. Do I need one?

Your link does not give much of any detail on the tap unit that is to be fitted. IF the tap is of the type that allows the water to mix within the body of the tap, and most usually are, then check valves will be required on both the hot and cold where the supplies are of un-equal pressure...

Are Plumbers Still Installing Open Vent Systems?

Not unusual in our neck of the woods even today, in spite of what is claimed for combi / sealed systems. Open vented may not be the pucker up to date system type but it works is predictable and reliable in its performance, provided its designed and installed correctly. I guess your...

Having a nightmare with wall mounted toilet!

I think GP is probably not too far off the mark Fix bolts - place plastic bush with captive finger into hole from inside the pan. Then the fun begins, you have to align the soil the flush pipe and the two bolts into the two captive held plastic bush, these also have to insure they don't...

Having a nightmare with wall mounted toilet!

Sorry to hear that you only have 50mm bottom access. Hope you will forgive the observation, but it would seem you have been sold a pup. My advice would be to talk to the guys who sold you it as it is clearly NOT compatable with the mounting frame assembly. Unless of course there is a magical...

Having a nightmare with wall mounted toilet!

For the methodology of mounting in the video to work you would need access to the fixings from the pan side. In which case have you such an access point? If yes, perhaps the black plastic fittings are meant to be 180deg about. From what I see that would in my mind be a safer method to...

As silly as this will sound are sure that there is not still fitted a 3/4fi by copper fitting still attached to the tap tails. I would really like to see a picture of the tap tails as anything other than than a BSP thread would be a first. but as noted above you live and learn.....

    Imperial olives measured internally ?

Its about understanding the historic conventions of pipe sizing. Some pipes were defined by their Inside and others by the Outside measurements. All part of the black art of plumbing

    Imperial olives measured internally ?

If you do need to replace the olive on the alkathene then yes a 3/4" imp olive is what you need. A 22mm brass stopcock with reducer to 15 on the outlet is best way to go. A Metal fitting over plastic wins every time for this type of fitting in my book, and don't worry the 22mm stopcock...

potterton 50e not firing up. Heeeelp

Could be any number of possibilities. Poor pipework layout encouraging entrapped air, blockage to cold feed. Blockage to cold feed would be my first guess as worth investigation. Purely on probabilities mind. DIY is good for the soul but sometimes its wiser to know when to stop. Is it...
