sorry, wasn't singling you out, i just used your post as it included some of the other posts. i don't dispute a pro or experienced eye would see it, i merely think my job looks pretty tidy and taping worked for me. hopefully in time it will stay looking good. i also appreciate the...

Storage heater outlet now socket, reduce fuse size?

at first i thought they were radials which was why i wondered if I should reduce the mcb's as i didn't know if having a single socket on a 32a mcb was a good idea Closer inpsection of the CU shoed only two mcb's for the old heating ( Third post from the top gives the circuit arrangement)...

    Plasterboard without skim?

ffs, you have clearly misinterpreted my post. if you read my post I state "I'm not a pro" so no one reads my post as anything more than opinion from a diy'er. i also said "I can't tell the differerence" I did not say a pro or someone experienced could not tell the differernce, nor did i...

Storage heater outlet now socket, reduce fuse size?

looks to be 2.5mm Consumer unit has two 32A MCB's labeled, upstairs heating and downstairs heating. Looks like there were only two storage heaters upstairs and six downstairs (unless the've tiled over the old outlet in the bathroom). Based on the number of single sockets underneath...

    Plasterboard without skim?

I'm not a pro but had some tape jointing to do. I bought this tape which has two metal strips in it for external corners and used self adhesive tape elsewhere. with a bit of reading up, patience and sanding I have joined the plasterboard and can't tell where the joins are, even on the roof...

Storage heater outlet now socket, reduce fuse size?

Hi, Look like my house had storage heaters in the past as below each window is an individual socket, the consumer unit also has labels mentioning upstairs heating/downstairs heating etc. The MCB's are still rated at 32A and we do use these sockets occasionally. Should I replace them with...

Fan for normal double panel radiator

got to disagree there, our dyson you press one button to detach the canister, hold over bin, press a button, bottom opens, contents fall out, close canister. you don't even have to touch anything dirty/dusty

i roughed up the thread a little and it still leaked. managed to fix it though in the end. whereas i was cleaning off all the ptfe and reapplying each time, i just unscrewed it, added another couple of turns of ptfe then screwed it in, repeated this again and it didn't leak. it seems...
