    Embedding Screw Eyelet into Masonry

Hi everyone I have some large screw eyelets with 20mm ID. I want to fix them into my garage brick wall, so I can pass my bicycle u-lock through them and lock my bike to it. I know you can buy anchor eyelets, but the ID is too small for me to pass my lock through, so I need to use screw...

Thanks very much. Presumably you mean that is labour cost not incl materials? Also would you have any idea of time and number of men?

    Roof estimate

Hi I'm just trying to estimate cost, time and manpower for clay roof tiling of a 100m2 roof. It's just an up and over pitched roof, no hips or valleys. Just want a ball park figure e.g. £5000, 3-4days, 2 men. If anyone has any ideas. Would be much appreciated Thanks

Exterior recurring water stains on paint

Hi Rain water is running off the top tiled surface of this terrace, and carrying any dirt etc with it, and then running down the white painted face as you can see in the photo, leaving stains. It can't be jet washed off. Can anyone give any suggestions of some sort of paint or thin...

Where can I buy 12mm square lengths of timber?

Did a little more research and found it's commonly known as "stripwood" or "square dowels". Managed to get it from local timber merchant which was better to support them than big DIY. And it was cheaper. THanks for your help And in answer to Merlin, if you read my question you'll see I...

Where can I buy 12mm square lengths of timber?

I need to put a 12mm deep trim around my window frame so I can add magnetic strips to it, and then a sheet of perspex for secondary glazing. Ideally, I need 12mm x 15mm x 6m, but 12mm square will suffice since it's more likely a standard size. Obviously it will come in shorter lengths than...

Where can I buy on of these marquee / tube elbow connectors?

Diameter is 19mm. The one in the photo must have come off some sort of marquee, gazebo or some similar garden furniture. I'm trying to build a frame to go over my blackcurrant bushes, using the poles i have. Brilliant links. Yep, Gazebo search on google seems to be the way forward...

Where can I buy on of these marquee / tube elbow connectors?

I've got some of those tent/marquee large tubes which connect with plastic 3 way elbow connectors, as you can see in the photo. Trouble is I don't have enough. For the life of me I cannot find where to buy them online. Only place I've found wants £12 for each one!! Surely they a few...

Fixing plaster board to brick wall

D&D is clearly suited to uneven walls, but just so you know, you can fix insulated plasterboard direct to the wall with mechanical fixings, without D&D. I had to do this, as I didn't even have the 15mm for the D&D. The key to airtightness then is canned foam around the edges. This is as per...

Internal Insulation of 2 x 2m solid wall bedroom

Lets say 6ft by 1ft shelf with a shedload of books on it, which is what I currently have. I mean big books. So let's say 30 books, 1kg each

Internal Insulation of 2 x 2m solid wall bedroom

Ah, I think i got confused with all the u-values of various products. It's actually 0.36 not 0.036, which makes a hell of a difference. Hence the sales guy suggesting I put rockwool with it. Seems some sort of fibreboard with drylining and vapour barrier might be best. Any recommendations...

Internal Insulation of 2 x 2m solid wall bedroom

Done some research and it seems Fermacell or some other gypsum/fibreboard materail would be ideal. A low thermal conductivity 0.032 W/mK, made from recycled material and pretty much non toxic at end of life. But it seems it's a dutch product, and I can't find any convenient suppliers...
