    You can file it yes, cut it straight as possible then use a file I know its easy but I am a plumber.

    Sounds like he doesn't want the job, sounds awkward doesn't carry kit for lead ????? Ok your answer as long as you have enough of the lead below the soldered bulb showing and having nice bit of lead you can use a leadlock on you should be able to manage it ( just like a compression fitting )...

    Ok you maybe right but never had the reason to use one so never relly looked till now. I have made them up using female Iron to copper then used a vent into the 1/2"

    On the manufacturers instructions it will say that if you are rising to the loft and then back down to the shower you will need airvents on the highest part of the installation on the pipes to dispell any air that can get trapped even tho its pumped.

    Ok so its tank fed mains are there any filters on the inlet pipes to the pump or shower mixer? And I take it the pipes rise from the airing cupboard (just a guess) then back down to the shower? Are there any air vents in the loft?

    It maybe air but you have said you have put isolating valves on these could well be restricting the flow and return to the radiators.

    Standpipe Height

    For the waste system You could if the sink is close enough get a combined washing machine/ sink trap and run the waste to that. As for the gas supply it still seems to be undersized. Usually the last metre can be run in 15mm, should be 22 off the meter.
