    Yes you can,a lot of people do this using a polurethane varnish as an extra protection against wear and tear on the emulsion paint. Give it a 2-3 of coats to get the sheen you want.

    You might have to line it, using either a 1000, or a 1200 grade of lining paper As for the 'light and space', I have used it now a couple of times, and dont look any different to me than the ordinary emulsion. :(

    You would have to scrape them back like they said, and yes they would leave a slight ridge, which you would have to fill to smooth out the ridge, then sand down when dry, either that or line it.

    I have never used it, but I have heard, that when you come to paint over it using your ordinary emulsion they have problems.

    Invest in a tub of Sugar soap,or a bottle of the concetrated type, you can get it from any DIY store, or hardware shop, get the granuals type, it lasts longer. It will cut through grease, nicotene,or ground in dirt, its fantastic stuff. :D

    It is difficult to try and strip behind rads, have you tried using a long handled scraper?, or put some polythene under the rad for any water, and try and soak the paper, if you keep soaking it, you should be able to get a good bit off. Are you putting paper back on?
