Gliddens contract matt as a top coat?

Gliddens contract is excellent paint as a miscoat, or even as a primer/base cover, but, personally I wouldnt use it as a finish coat.

Painting newly skimmed walls and ceilings

I agree, as its only a skim, just wait till its completely dry, whatever you do dont go down the PVA route. If the plaster was bonded then skimmed, you would have to wait months for the plaster to dry out before you hung Vinyl paper, but as its skimmed, and as long as you size the walls, you...

glossing panelled door with a roller

The time you faff about dipping your roller in the tray, then leaving it down to pick up the brush to lay off the paint, you would be just as quick using the brush on its own. :D Dont load the brush when your doing your beading/bevelled bits, and just keep checking for any runs.

Tips required for painting with rollers

I agree with Zamps :D blending is the secret, (I do the same with my makeup) It might help you if after you have rolled your vertical area, and just before your going to dip your roller back in the tray to load up, gently roll upwards from the skirting, blending as you go along...
