Providing you have the clearence on the LHS of the boiler then indeed, drilling out the rivets and sliding the vessel out sideways is the best option. Takes about 45mins. Must have done half a dozen back in my BG days!!!

As already mentioned.....blocked pilot injector to all three scenarios you propose. Lost count of the number of Ultimates ive had the pilot to pieces on!

Looks like a Drayton or one of their unbadged cheaper ones from a few years back. Good valves, can do a lot worse than one of those.

Really, Belmonts are great , not draining down, not freezing, no bunging. I reckon you can change the o rings in about 1 minute. i'd like to see you change a rad valve in that time.

Have a look at the Baxi Solo HE.....tried and tested heat ex, very easy to install and no pump over-run so very easy to wire up with no extra wires to run. Ive been fitting them for about 3 years and have had no bother with them at all. They are also very reasonably priced.

I know a few Mira 88's running fine for a few years now on combi's. Mira officially say they are not for use for Combi boilers but are acceptable for mains pressure (ie unvented DHW). Personally I can't see why they should work fine on Unvented but not running off a combi seeing that modern...

Look up the manual for a Vokera Compact 24 (or 28) it is an identical boiler to your Sabre other than the badge on the fron. The problem you have could be a number of things but the Thermistors are particually problematic on this boiler and can give the fault sysmptons you describe. Hope...

If his mistake is delibrate I can't condone it BUT a 24kw combi with the property you have will give an excellent shower. It will take time to run a bath but if like me you shower everyday and have a bath maybe once every 2 months then 24kw will be more than adequate.

The only thing 22mm pipework would acheive in your case is waste water by having more to run off before hot came through! Hep20 is not amaturish. Its cheaper and easier than copper keeping cost down for you, the end user. The only people who slate plastic pipework is the 'old school'...
