Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

The pump is not between the Vent and Feed pipes. It's arranged like this... Boiler -------6 Feet-------Vent----12 Inches---Feed----3 Inches---Pump I just cant work out where the pressure is when the Vent is 15 Inches below the suction side of the Pump. Also, the pump looked clean and the...

Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

The pumping over problem is not there on pump speed 1. On speeds 2 & 3 it starts to happen again. The circuit (up from the boiler) first passes the expansion (overflow?) and then, after 12 inches, it passes the cold feed and then 3 inches further it enters the pump. This pipe is a straight...

Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

I'm confident it wasn't pumping over before and I've been in the house for 20 years. The layout looks right and I can't work out why the pipe that is 6 inches below the sucking side of the pump has enough positive pressure in it to send water up 10 feet in to the tank. You would think that it...

Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

Oh. And by the way. I did try a magnet on them and did not notice any pull. The other pump had black/grey gritty coating. These pipes looked very brown but also gritty. They are all 3/4 inch.

Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

Finished and sorted (mostly). When he got to the upside down U of the return it was very clogged. If I can work it out I'll post pictures. He's cut out the whole U together with the Cylinder return. Then he's cut out the last 12 inches of the bypass, removed the rest of the down pipe (return)...

Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

Plumber back this morning. Sentinel X300 drained out with very little discolouration. He thinks there may be a blockage in the return pipe. It's an up side down U shape in the first floor airing cupboard. The radaitors return in the floor and then enter up in to this upside down U where it...

Combi with an Immersion Cylinder as back up?

2 Combis seems extravagant. So it's a Valiant 937 or put in a conventional sealed system. Is there any wisdom and what way it should all be assembled on the wall. (I mean what's lowest to highest for Boiler, Cylinder, expansion and Feed tank) assuming I can find a cylinder to go through the...

Moderator 11 split my hijack - Cold Radiators Downstairs

Ahh. Found it again. Now 2 threads running. I'll watch both. (Pump OK - it was changed; Hot water circuit just about running)

[/url] So I'd better get flushing first thing tomorrow. That'll be 72 hours worth. What has it done?

Moderator 11 split my hijack - Cold Radiators Downstairs

This hijacking rule is a bit harsh! If you have the same problem is it not possible to tag along with the ebb and flow of the experts? I was on the post that had cold radiators down stairs but hot upstairs. Mine is getting worse and tonight I have very little flow upstairs. But worse than...

Valiant is the best option so far

Combi with an Immersion Cylinder as back up?

Thought you were on to something there. Istor is exactly what I want but it's 560mm wide. This forum is full of tales of failed boilers. I always default to good resilience plans... so for heating I have fan heaters and an open fire. For hot water I'd like a backup system. And the present...

Combi with an Immersion Cylinder as back up?

Heatbanks won't go in. Unvented requires Boiler Cylinder Expansion and various pipes pumps etc. I'm just trying to get it all in to a small space. If I stack them all up on the outside wall (570 x 2400) would it work? The combi only falls down on the fact you have nothing if the boiler fails.

Combi with an Immersion Cylinder as back up?

I'm presuming there is no way of putting the cylinder in series after the combi as in the 937? If not then I have to have a non combi Boiler Cylinder and Expansion? Or, saying it another way, what is the minimum you need to get mains pressure and some store for an immersion? I'm the one with...

Combi with an Immersion Cylinder as back up?

Is it possible to put an Immersion Cylinder in to a Combi System? I've had a look at the Valiant 937 with 2 small Stainless Steel storage vessels but they do seem small and you can't get an electric back up of an Immersion. It would be nice to still have hot water if the boiler fails. Any...

Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

Sentinel X300. I keep trying the Radiator bleed screws but only water comes out. The vent above the pump bleeds a bit of air every hour.
