    Soundproofing Boiler Cupboard?

I don't want to stud the bedroom wall and soundproof that, it makes far more sense to do that in the Boiler cupboard

    Soundproofing Boiler Cupboard?

When you say 'stud the wall out' I presume that you mean use battens as I thought, will 1.5" x 1.5" do? Won't I need some kind of board to fix the boiler to? I've got some 12mm marine ply left over from the bathroom, I could double that up, screw it together, what about fireproofing? Thanks Steve

    Soundproofing Boiler Cupboard?

    Thump from toilet

The Toilet in the extension is the worst, the new one in the bathroom isn't bad at all, bit more of a fart when it stops rather than thump, we have dishwasher and Washing Machine and they don't cause thump. I don't really want to reduce the Main water pressure, we don't have a water tank, so the...

    Sliding uPVC Doors.

I'll try lubricating first, that's got to be easier. Is it easy to replace wheels? Any You tube video to do this? I'd guess mine are quite old, only moved in a few months ago so I don't know how old they are Thanks Steve

    Thump from toilet

Hi, I've not lived in my property long so I don't know all the work that has been done except since I've been here. We have a new bathroom suite fitted and the toilet that is in there makes a slight noise when it's finished filling, you can hear when it's getting close to finishing, it's almost...

    Sliding uPVC Doors.

Hi, I have a couple of uPVC sliding doors, one at the front of the property, this is a bit noisy and takes quite a bit of effort to open and close, how do I fix this? The other uPVC sliding door is at the back and is also difficult to open and close, requires some effort, but not noisy. Also...

    Chainsaw Training?

Hi Guys, I've got a couple of trees that I want to take down, one is a Pear Tree, very small @ 6ft and I guess 4" Diameter, I could take this down wit a Bow saw I guess, but the other tree is bigger, say 7 - 8 Ft tall and I'd guess 10 - 12 Inch Diameter. I recently tried to hire a Chainsaw and...

    13 A 1-Gang to 2-Gang Moulded Converter Switched Socket

I'll do that. So that's why people don't do DIY Electrics, they won't have the equipment to do the test. Steve

    13 A 1-Gang to 2-Gang Moulded Converter Switched Socket

Thanks, is that important? I guess I could do the work and then get an electrician to do the test, I've got a few sockets to do, so might be the best way, rather than paying an electrician to do all the work.. Steve

    13 A 1-Gang to 2-Gang Moulded Converter Switched Socket

Thanks again Guys, Regarding the DIY electrics rules, it would be nice to have something short in plain English, for example (imnot sure if this is ore t or not, so please don't quote), but something like If you're confident in knowing what you're doing and it's indoors and not in the bathroom...

    13 A 1-Gang to 2-Gang Moulded Converter Switched Socket

Thanks Guys, I'll see how much time I have before the decorator comes in, if I have enough time I'll go for the proper double socket. I might just check what DIY electrics you can do without a cirtificate, I think there's a wiki entry regarding that, I found...
