Filament bulbs to be banned - EEC initiative

Actually I was drawing attention to the fact this is not a ban on GLS lamps. Do you have any american blood by any chance?

Filament bulbs to be banned - EEC initiative

And where does the OP say that? All he says is GLS lamps.

Filament bulbs to be banned - EEC initiative

I know  - but that's not what the op said.

hooking up altenative power to the house

Often though about doing this - but concerned that this lukewarm tank then presents a lovely breeding ground for bacteria. OK they will later get heated to 60oC but I seem to remember from O level biology that's not enough to kill them (68oC needed?).

hooking up altenative power to the house

Don't suppliers of domestic wind turbines, solar panels have an out of the box solution for this. After what's the point in B&Q selling their £1500 wind turbine if they don't provide way to connect it up. Perhaps they don't yet - but if they even want to make this sort of green energy mass...

    dos

Well if breezer sends me the file I'll have a go! 15 years since I've done 80x86 assembler (have done 8051/51 more recently - but don't get my hands on code so much these days). If it's not too complex might just be able to find the INT 10 calls that set the background colour breezer wants to...

Cut a channel into chimney breast

Because they have 3 holes :!: If you wanted them to stand a chance of lining up they'd need to be 4 hole brick. When we had our extension built I did all the wiring and plumbing. Went out each night and angle ground channels in the brickwork they'd done that day (and drilled joists, bent...

    blue tooth ?

Something about a code? Entering a passcode so you can pair the devices would be expected at that point. Really need the exact error message to be able to help.

    dos

So what is it written in BASIC? We really need something to go on, as poker says how about the file name and extension for starters - that will at least be a start.

Cut a channel into chimney breast

 Now if you did mount a fish tank inside a 28/32in TV in place of the CRT this would be a great prop for a practical joke. I can imagine getting people to watch this "realistic" DVD (to show how good HDTV is perhaps). Then opening the top and doing the carrot/goldfish eating stunt. Idea...

    dos

what one :?: P.S. As softus said what's the name of the dos program? Or can you describe more about what it's doing.

    Notifiable work

Back to the assumption that any work done without getting the correct paperwork sorted is sub-standard. It may be done perfectly correctly, but of course, without testing and inspection, no one can tell. If you consider yourself competent with electrics and want to add an extra socket to the...

    blue tooth ?

Did you install the bluetooth drivers that came with the dongle before plugging it in? If you plug it in first and let windows install its drivers it doesn't alwayw work properly. Depends on the individual dongle/manufacturer.

DESL - that quote's out of context, needs the previous para - putting in the context of people whose questions (and follow ups) show they seem to be out of their depth.

    dangerous

You only have look back to yesterday to find a post like this: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82469 where some of the qualified sparks are doing their best to ensure someone is competent to do the work they are suggesting. Often a poster only has to show the slightest hint of not...

    Web hosting with web-mania.

Tony In Word when you do Save As choose "Web Page" rather than "Single File Web Page" that will get the pages laid out propertly (like they look in Word). Also were you planning to put anything in the root directory - perhaps a simple re-direct to one of the other sites? Cheers Steve

Tony Agilepumping is saved as XML not HTML? Try regenerating as HTML - that might help. Steve

    Spam from my domain !

Tony Are you assuming that because the to address has been spoofed as [email protected] this mail has originated from you ISP or Hosting service? Not true, you need to look at the e-mail headers to see what servers it came from (view->options in Outlook). If you look up the IP...

Sounds like an error in the HTML so that the broswer can't interpret it (or doesn't even realise it's a web page) and is just displaying the plain HTML. Does the same thing happen if you open the index.htm file in internet explorer on your own PC? Any chance you can post the URL for this...
