If it has never been right you don't need a new cartridge. You can tweak the cartridge inside which is held on by four screws. You take out the screws and turn the dial inside a 1/4 of a turn more towards the hot. Hard to explain but you can "commission" these showers to get them hotter.

I'd advise keeping electric showers and therefore if there became a fault on the boiler at least you've still got a means of hot water. The answer to your question is yes it can be done but as mentioned above the gas pipe may need to be upgraded.

What makes you think they are faulty. But yes you can just replace the "heads" on the honeywell valves so you wouldn't need to isolate any water.

Have you got an isolation valve on the incoming mains pipework to the cistern. If so, just turn it off/down a little so the pressure is not as forceful and this will sort out the "clunk".

Have you got a picture? It sounds like it's a syphonic toilet working in conjunction with a syphonic syphon. Probably easier to just replace the toilet. But a picture will confirm this.

Just change the tap. Turn off the water. Turn the whole tap anti-clockwise. It'll wind all out. Get a new tap. Wrap PTFE tape around spindle of new tap. Insert new tap. Turn water back on.

In the summer I think you'll find just the hot tap will be too hot and therefore a double attachment will work better as you can always leave the cold tap turned off if you don't want it. However, if you do need it to cool the water down then the option is always there.
