I just find it odd that only one radiator is getting hot, the one which alot of plumbers connect on before the motovised valve therefore allowing it to come on with the hot water. Coincidence? ..Maybe? Are the 2 pipes coming of the moto valve the same temperature or could it just be...

The chances are that you have brought a tap that is intended for high pressures.

Are you sure they have not been piped up to come on with the hot water. It's not uncommon! Is the pipework leading to the towel rail 'teed off' on the flow pipe (coming from the boiler) BEFORE the motovised valve?

Phone up your shower manufacturer and ask technical can your shower work on mains.

You have two different types of ball valves there. The one in your cistern at the moment is a BOTTOM feed valve and the one you are trying to replace it with is a SIDE feed. The one you are trying to replace it with should really only be used in your tanks (in your attic) to comply with...

It would be leaking constantly if it was anything to do with the hot/cold connections going into the tap. However, since it is only leaking after use I can only suggest maybe it's a faulty cartridge inside the body (i.e - leaking inside the tap). Do you know the make of the tap?

Have you thought whether in the future you might want to add more radiators to the system or extend the house? .. If so maybe best to go for a 24kw. If not 18kw should be more than enough.

I don't see no rubber washer on the underside of that tap. Are you sure when using the taps you are not accidently splashing water near the bottom of the tap and it is finding its way through - giving the impression there is a leak underneath?

If you have a combi boiler it means your system is sealed. Therefore you do not need to worry about turning off any means of water. Just drain down your system via a drain off valve (until the gage on your boiler reaches 0) and do the work and when it comes to refilling there should be a...

Do you have a pump within your system? (normally in an airing cupboard).

Sounds like the pump. If its not pumping correcting (not circulating properly) your boiler is over heating (and ketterling, this is probaly the noise you are hearing) and cutting out via overheat thermostats. Change the pump, if it dont work - change it back and take the pump back!

Ah, I see! Well when needs must maybe a bung is your only option, I however have never trusted one enough to use it and I'd prob jus alter the pipework in the attic to incorporate a form of isolation (somehow!!). I'll leave it in your more than capable hands :)

Can you not trace the cold feed from your F+E tank, normally they lead into the airing cupboard and you can just cut a gate valve in there. How are you planning on flushing your system through? Have you got a machine or just planning to adapt a hose and flush it continually through with mains...
