sorry last q. should the shuttering be the same depth as the concrete. ie, if the trench is 1000mm deep and i am pouring 750 of concrete does the shutteriung run from the bottom of the trecnh all the way to the top ie 750mm of shuttering or do i stop the shuutering at the top of the pipe...

take ceiling down and insulate between joists. plasterboard back over. check out knauf website... very good. if you're handy you can do it yourself but watch the electrics. matt

existing drains that are not to be moved are in a place where the extension will be built. it is planned to be a trench fill type foundation. this will mean the drains (existing) will have to pass right through the concrete. what is the correct way to do this, which should satisfy building...

sloping roof single storey with roof lights for dining room. need to construct and insulate to form warm roof. can anyone help me out as to how a warm roof is formed without suffering condensation. thanks mattt

does anyone know what is the minimum pitch allowed for a sloping roof to my extension. i've calculated the propsed roof angle at 19-20 degrees. i am not sure if building control will allow this. also i am woried about rain going under the tiles. any advice would be appreciated. matt

having single storey kitchen ext 5m wide by 3m. because of roots we may have to go down 1.5m not sure yet. we have a clay soil. what would be a good width for the foundation. i was thinking 600mm just in case in future we would want to build on top. or would 450mm still be adequate for this...
