Do i need to top up my heating system??

What good's that in this case, especially if the feed pipe is blocked?

    Boiler pressure problems...

...but depending on which boiler you have you may not be able to do this yourself.

Boiler (Gas powered Rayburn) cuts in and out VERY regularly

I doubt any one particular, specific piece of advice will help you... except, may be, call out someone who can troubleshoot the whole system and then advise you accordingly.

    Central Heating Failed

You still very likeley have a blockage on the feed pipe. You need to confirm that you haven't. The system needs draining and cleaning generally as well or you will be chamging the pump again soon. Of course taking any advice is entirely up to you...

    Boiler pressure problems...

Specifically, which boiler do you have? You probably can't do this yourself as it requires case removal and it's inside the room sealed section.

Do i need to top up my heating system??

grd1976, mate, you have already asked this question. My final piece of advice on your previous identical thread was to call a plumber round to check your system out if you can't figure it out yourself. As previously mentioned the cistern on top of the hot cylinder is for the hot cylinder...

    Boiler pressure problems...

Check pressure of expansion vessel. You will have to do this with no pressure in the system.

    power shower... which pump

If you have low pressure there's not a lot you can do about it. Contact your water supplier and ask them to investigate. do your neighbours have similar water pressure and flow?

Soil pipe adaptor for asbestos cement.

Guidance on working with asbestos in this sort of way can be found at www.aic.org.uk Care and common sense are most important, of course.

    power shower... which pump

You can't fit a shower pump on a mains supply, that is why you have the electric shower. Do you have low pressure? How do you know? An electric shower is not a 'powerful' shower; it has to heat the water as it passes through to the shower head - hard work, especially in cold weather!

Changing and teeing into Flow & return pipe

No. And the pump is on the flow btw. Do you have your boiler manual? It will show you a simple schematic of a heating circuit. Figure out what you have compared to this, if you don't have the arrangement per the manual make it so, you may as well - seeing as you seem prepared to tackle...

I told you this 2 posts ago...

    Central Heating Failed

You can see the impeller in the second photo. Looks dirty but otherwise ok. In any case what/where ever the cause of this blockage just change the pump.

    Central Heating Failed

Follow the pipe down from the F&E (expansion) tank to where it tees in to the system. At this point see if you can feel any pull on a magnet. If there is magnetism it may be very slight. If there is magnetism here this indicated that the cold feed into the sytem is blocked. You could compare...

Reconnecting radiators to a direct mains system

The tank on top of the hot water cylinder will only be filling the cylinder. The term 'direct' in this context means that the hot water in the cylinder is heated 'directly' by immersion heater elements. Without actually looking at your heating system there's not much further we can go with it...

leaking connection on the feed pipe to an indirect cylinder

Was going to say same myself! Not alot you can do about that without draining then stripping down the joint and remaking - I would think, I'm afraid!

Reconnecting radiators to a direct mains system

If you have a 'direct' combination cylinder then the water container on top of it just keeps the cylinder full. A red vessel marked diaphragm? Have you looked around under sink for anything that might be a filling loop (connection) to the heating circuit?

Genius required aspa re: Pulsacoil 2000 ongoing problem.

Yes, still had the Pulsacoil lll that I looked at recently in mind. Either way the controller should be changed.

Genius required aspa re: Pulsacoil 2000 ongoing problem.

The relays are quite robust. I've not come across knackered ones in this context. Not seen burnt back plate connections either. Unlikely I would have thought bearing in mind the way they fit.

Genius required aspa re: Pulsacoil 2000 ongoing problem.

There should be a fused spur switch just before the controller unit. Switch it off and confirm by switching on boost... There are 2 screws on the front of the controller. Remove these and the front will lift off. It connects to the 'live' side of the box via a connector similar to that found...
