    Have you got suspended floors on the ground floor? Does the water main come up from the floor to the stop cock?

    Is the vent pipe the tee nearest to and before the pump or does the cold water feed pipe come in between the vent and the pump? Btw are you talking about the drain cock on the bottom of the cylinder? in that picture I mean.

    Without reading through the whole thread again I thought I recalled you saying you had some doubts regarding their ability. It appears I remembered wrong. I understand that you are trying to avoid spending money but a decent bloke shouldn't be charging for wrongly diagnosed parts replacement...

    1. The benefit of putting it right is that it will be right! It should be a certain way for good reason, most of which have already been explained in this thread. 2. Bath taps are usually in 22mm so that the bath fills faster...

    Indeed, but there seemed to be doubt about the integrity of the blokes that did the tests. Regardless, it does seem that we are going round in circles here. The OP needs to get someone else in to check through the thing logically.

    Calm down mate, it is a fair comment. Your touchy reaction may suggest that Agile is correct, either way a slightly less aggressive approach on your part is in order I think - particularly as you are, by your own admission, new to the forum and want to be treated gently yourself!!

    Fair comment matt1e. andrew197 can you check that there are no loose wires or anything else on the back plate that might insulate it from the controller.

    I'm afraid I would hesitate to advise you to remove the casing of this boiler, which is necassary to check vessel pressure.
