    Yes I think I may do that for peace of mind. As it is the wires are all very well wrapped with electrical tape. It was a ridiculous situation. I had 4 boxes all cramped together covered with all sorts of paint and residue from the precious owner. An eye sore was an under statement.

    I was about to say!! So the wires that I've just trimmed should fully be removed. I don't suppose there is a link that I can visually see? May be giving the electrician a call by the sounds of it! You mentioned that the voltage when it rings... But if its disconnected surely there would be...

    I haven't touched what is in the box outside or anywhere near. Literally all I have done is clipped the wires closest to the facia inside house

    I'm getting really confused here... The little box:socket is inside my house. They were only very small wires smaller than any electrical wires... No copper wiring. Wiring into the house still all in tact. Just the facia removed!

    Disconnected the wires from facia. And I am logged onto Internet. As I mentioned Virgin media fitted their own box inside. I'm not removing the wires just disconnecting and hiding.

    I use Virgin Media and have done for years. No plan on changing. Use mobile for telephone never use landline. I have 2 separate boxes for a virgin media.

    I don't have BT connected so surely the line has been disconnected. The socket is the BT master socket. I'm happy to keep the wiring inside but just want to remove the facia so the exterior appearance is flush against wall.

    I had a plumber say that changing the waste will involve pulling the sick away from the wall to get to pipes etc... sounded expensive so trying to think of a temporary and cheap option.

    This looks good but the paint has chipped away from the chrome around the overflow trim on bath. Does this just polish existing paintwork or does it coat it?
