A swimming pool is tanked in its own right. Grout and adhesive is not wateproof but can be water resistant therfore the tiles wont fall off in the swimming pool. This is what people dont understand and this is why there are so many problems in peoples showers at home. Ty

I thought the original post was for porcelain tiles which do not have a glazed surface. Ceramic = Glazed surface = PITT Drill guide. Porcelain. The kit I use is called Armeg. £300 for the drill bits though. The other option is lots of drill bits. Ty :D

For a start I would never tile on paint. You may as well paint the back of the tile and stick it to the wall. Remove the paint or score it. With the floor you can either over lay with Ply 15mm or there is a product you can use which is a rubber based adhesive. Ty :lol: P PITTSTOP...

Your friend was right. How thick was the Ply? Most adhesive manufacturers have an add mix. Basically you use a standard grout and the add mix to increase flexibility. You can buy single part flexible grout which comes in a bag.

Should be 4 weeks however due to the thin coat 2 should be ok. It is not just about the drying it is also the increase in bond strength of the plaster over time. Ty
